STEEM BANK
Recently STEEMIT reached over 120,000 users and is a great achievement in the little over 7 months that it has been live.
I have mentioned it before and would like to mention it again. Could STEEM become a Bank in the Future..??
Now before anyone rushes out and starts ordering Debit Cards and Bank Accounts, I don't mean just yet.
But what would happen if there was 120 million users using STEEMIT..!!
Surely the answer would be YES..!!
These are exciting times we are in and one that will see BLOCKCHAIN and BITCOIN taking centre stage as the Global Financial System migrates to a CryptoCurrency Environment.
I wouldn't rule out a STEEM BANK in the future..!!
Thanks for reading.

That's funny. I envision a logo not unlike one for a bank that used to exist in my region of the country back in the 80's and 90's called "Boatmen's Bank".

Honestly, I don't think we need more banks - but @everittdmickey makes great points: savings and loans are not banks and neither are credit unions.
We are already a crowdfund, if you think about it. The more content we create, the more "interest" we earn, which increases the weight of our upvotes, which helps other content creators earn. Basically what might be missing from the banking aspect are whales who could loan STEEM or SBD with a contract & expectation of being paid back with interest - and a way to resolve conflict without nuking someone. Just some of my late night random thoughts on it. :)

There will always be a need for loans and other things banks do today but it will be more distributed and for sure more transparent.
