You may know that Steem distributes a certain amount of rewards each day based on what has been voted up. A large percentage of those rewards will tend to go to those who buy votes even if they do not actually make much profit. It is the vote sellers who always win. There are some people really exploiting this system to try and enrich themselves whilst adding no value to the platform. An extreme example of this is the @crystalliu account. Here are some recent posts which are often exact duplicates of each other. They just upload the same video to DTube over and over or just paste in the same content. Of course nobody is looking at it, but they still buy votes from the bots who have not blacklisted them, and seem disinclined to do so.

You can help recover some of those rewards for the general pool by downvoting these posts. The retaliation risk is low as they do not how a massive amount of SP and their voting power is generally low. They cannot even take a cent from you and it will not harm your reputation.

This person has a number of other accounts where they do the same thing, but if we can just deal with the main one it should remove a lot of their profit.

To make matters worse they are also buying votes on their comments.

Comments

The @steemflagrewards community has been trying to deal with this abuser for some time, but their resources are limited. If you downvote posts that have been left an appropriate comment with the reasons then you should be entitled to SFR tokens that can be used to buy yourself votes. I see this is more ethical than buying from the bots as SFR do not get rich from this. Their power mostly comes from delegations by supporters. You can help out with that too to earn extra tokens.

Well. @dtube should just ban/blacklist him. Is it that hard? And if he moves to another steem-powered platform that should ban/blacklist him aswell.

I'm not sure if he is posting through dtube. It's hard to ban someone from Steem as it is designed to prevent that.

Posting through dtube or not. Shouldn't @dtube be able to blacklist his channel?

I don't know what their policy is on banning people. You could ask :)

They are already tag :p

I could also just buy more account and get someone to code a downvote bot for me specificly for crystall and with the HF21 coming out with the downvotw reward pool. It would be easy I guess

It's going to be interesting to see what difference HF21 makes if/when it comes along. The current situation with paid votes is not good for Steem in general.

Ye it will be. I mean, I agree to not abuse the bots, thats bad for steem. But I do 5 steem bids at smartsteem and I see it as an investmemt back into steemit somehow :D

I see it as a way for the bots to get richer :) I just don't want to play that game.
