I worry this would become quite complex

Downvoting a post can decrease pending rewards and make it less visible. Common reasons:

  • Disagreement on rewards
  • Fraud or plagiarism
  • Hate speech or trolling
  • Miscategorized content or spam

    This complexity can be handled on UI side. Only downvoting procedure may slightly change as well as reputation calc algorithm.
