So I was feeling a little funky this morning and I decided to do a little video.
I kept asking myself, why is everyone not on steemit right now socializing and being a part of this auspicious awesomeness and four reasons came to my mind; fear, ignorance, apathy and time. There is no virtue in fear and ignorance. I understand that some people will never care and for others, it’s just not the right time.
This video is for those people that may be afraid or still have some iota of fear in their mind. Its originally intended for my facebook audience but I thought I’d share it here too. Hope you like it.
One of the ways I usually conquer fear before I go on any adventure is that I do a risk/reward analysis or a best-case-worse-case scenario. This is a little something I learned from the book ‘Take that Risk’ by Ben Carson.
Ben taught me to ask myself the following questions before I take on any venture.
Questions
What is the worst thing that can happen if this fails?
What is the best thing that can happen if this succeeds?
If you can live with the worse case scenario and best case scenario and its moral, it doesn’t hurt anyone, etc then do it. TAKE THAT RISK!
THIS IS MY OWN RISK/REWARD ANALYSIS FOR PROMOTING STEEMIT.
Worse Case Scenario/Risk
The worst thing that can happen to me if I keep on steeming and promoting steemit as if I’m the third co-founder(right after Ned Scott and Dan Larimer).
Let’s say steemit doesn’t work, it fails and crashes and burns and it turn out to be a hoax.
This is what happens;
- I would have made some money.
- I would have helped my friends to make some money online
- Some of them would have wasted a few minutes of their lives if they didn’t withdraw their earnings but this is time they are already so lavishly wasting in facebook anyway so, this doesn’t count.
- I would have learnt a lot of things: This place has the best content in the world. The people I am meeting here daily are pushing me to study and become a better person.
Best Case Scenario/Reward
Best thing that can happen to me if I keep on steeming and promoting steemit as if I am the third co-founder(right after @dan and @ned)
Let’s say steemit works out fantastically well(which it would), and it goes mainstream and Justin Bieber and all those celebrities comes in and pumps up the price of Steem. Let's say steemit becomes as popular as facebook and twitter combined or the electronic mail.
This is what happens;
- I would have helped my friends to make a lot of money online
- All of them would have gotten immeasurable and brobdingnagian value for their time.
- I would have learnt a lot of things: This place has the best content in the world. The people I am meeting here daily are pushing me to study and become a better person.
- I would be deeply loved by my friends whom I told about it.
- I would have made some crazy and awesome new friends
- The people I introduced to steemit would have learned about blockchain technology and strategically position themselves for a world of blockchain and cryptocurrencies.
- I’ll be stinking rich and famous.
This is the best deal in town!
It’s what I'll like to call a no-risk-high-yield investment. It’s too freaking good to be true, but it is true.
There are many other things that are not included in this best case scenario. I’ve not even talked about the spiritual or psychological effect it has on people. It has the power to change people for the better. That’s a story for another day. If I start writing about the benefits of steemit to my community it’s going to be a rrrrrreeeeaaaallllllyyyyyy long write up.
Thank you for reading. I hope it was value for your time. Please leave a comment if you have any criticism or adulations. Leave plenty adulations. I love adulations and I have a sizeable amount of Steem Power(lol). winks#
Sundayselfies contest is my way of showing love and giving back to the community.
It's a weekly selfie contest that opens on Sunday and closes on Saturday.

@tojukaka, you're right, a lot of people are afraid of failure- thanks for giving us a possible worst case scenarios so that we can actually see that it's not all that bad. Everyone wants to jump on the biggest thing, so why not invest ourselves before it gets big. We gotta stop trippin' out on fears that are irrational. Steemit is here to stay, and I've been stoked. We all have to take it one day at a time c:

People just hate change, so I guess the inertia that usually trails any change may explain the reason some people find it hard to try something different.
Another nice one from the Lord of The Steem
