AnonSteem has just hit 100 registered accounts [THANK YOU]

err..could you elaborate? unenlightened minnow questions - why should anonymous accounts benefit the community, why should I want loads of them, and what is BTC/LTC?

A few things have happened that make this a good idea.

  1. Steemit.com is connecting to facebook during every page load. See that round user headshot icon? At one point they coded something that showed everyones Facebook Headshot there that registered with a facebook account. Massive breach of user privacy!
  2. Steemit.com was hacked and lost many accounts and a bunch of steem. This security breach was purely due to releasing software without security testing, and it cost people time and money. No serious security features have been implemented since, just a removal of features and password change feature for after the fact. That hacker could have easily gotten the facebook\reddit accounts used to register to steemit, we will never know.
  3. Due to the hack, the "accidental" facebook connections, the lack of precautions after the hack, and the general avoidance of normal customer service features like a helpdesk, I just assume that there is very little thought put into user info security.

That is why this is a great service. Thanks for providing it someguy123!

Am getting the picture, thanks for the 'heads up'

Not everyone trusts social media. Many people don't have Facebook or Reddit accounts, and would be much happier paying for their account.

AnonSteem is anonymous because I believe everyone has a right to privacy. There should be no reason for me to ask for personal details just to create you a username on STEEM. So far there has been no known abuse from accounts made by AnonSteem, many of the accounts have went on to be successful steemians.

BTC/LTC means you can pay with Bitcoin or Litecoin, they are popular cryptocurrencies similar to STEEM and STEEM Dollars. I explained in the original post that I don't allow STEEM payments because that would link you to AnonSteem and possibly reveal the link between your multiple accounts without you realising the risk.

Cool..I get it..Thanks for taking the time to explain :-)

Privacy is seriously important thing in the current world.
