winter road season

today was a very busy day in my life.

Our truck driver didn't make it out of Winnipeg on account of the cold weather. His brakes weren't working, so he had to defrost them for 3 hours to make his rig road worthy.

In that time, he ended up hooking his pickup to the trailer he was towing which caused the truck to explode. Or, certain parts in it to stop working. So, nuts to him. He wasn't having a good morning.

He arrived in town a few hours behind schedule. didn't take the directions he was given for the easiest route into town and got lost. Our stores owner went to find him. blah blah he ended up arriving at 1:30 instead of 10am like it was scheduled to happen.

So, the other semi had to wait. We loaded that truck full of school supplies for Pauingassi which is a community way up north. After he left, we filled another trailer with a pile of stuff which is now on its way to Oxford House. Another community way up in northern Manitoba. Then a trailer full of furniture arrived. We unloaded that.

Gardewine came to pick up our regular daily orders, and we sent more stuff to yet another northern community (Garden Hill) that didn't manage to make it onto the other trucks.

Then I looked at the clock, and my work day was over! What a relief!

I love my job. Days like today make things seem really worthwhile, when we can help to make the world shine!
