While you all fight about the trending page you are missing the idea that SteemIt is not the future it is the Firehose.

The Steem Blockchain and Steem the currency are the future

The Future Is Coming:

New platforms are coming.
SMTs are coming
Communities are coming.
Investors are coming
New Users are coming

There will be Memes and Porn and maybe a content site or two, SteemPress dLive, dMania, dTube, dSound, Utopian, steemnews.online, Zappl

Are you paying attention?

Rewarding Bloggers and Content Creators is a difficult thing, it has been tried in Mainstream many times. We will continue to try it, but as we have found out it isn't easy to have a decentralized community that also attracts Mainstream. They can't handle the language, they don't like memes or Conspiracy, or Liberals, or Flags or they don't like YOU. (ha, kidding) They want Ned to come and fix everything. They don't like investors or voting bots or whatever it is that they don't like. Most people only want Freedom to the extent that it benefits them. Most of us also have very little experience working in a decentralized environment.

We can have both! We will have both.

If you don't like how SteemIt is, or the trending page or whatever, that is fine make a post. After you are done posting look around at the new platforms and those that are coming. Find a "Content" community, or an Art community, or a Singing Community. a Gift Economy and work with those people to develop your own vision of what you thought SteemIt would/should/could be.

If you are still trying to Tweak SteemIt, you are not seeing what is developing!

Tomorrow earning Steem will be even harder than it is today.

We are not . I see steem community humble and doers . Competition is good for general market . The best will win . Some of the rest will survive and rest give up - this is just how every tech marketplace works. Then again i will personally hope and believe in steem . First mover advantage with efficient team is remarkable.

Thanks! I don't expect everyone to be mentioning us with the other well-known apps just yet, but nice to get it on people's awareness gradually^^

It's unfortunate that many people come on steemit and fail to see that there is so much more being built and then judge the value and potential of the token by what they see on trending. Would be nice if Dapps were easily found somewhere, like there being a menu on steemit.com that let people browse for verified apps.

Yes, I'm thinking a Steem Blockchain landing page where you log in, general info and help, see general and specific wallet information, SMTs that you hold and drop downs or links to each of the applications! :)

The Blogger interface is actually a pretty good template for that; there are a bunch of optional widgets containing different apps that you can drag into your basic bare-bones blog page. You can add a jillion things or no things, depending on what your objective is.

The particular aspect of this community that will remain a major block for a "mainstream" user is precisely that the apps are all over the place. I don't want to have 17 separate accounts, I want to have everything in one place. It doesn't have to be "centralized," logistically speaking, I just want a "wrapper" that makes it LOOK centralized.

Find a "Content" community, or an Art community, or a Singing Community. a Gift Economy and work with those people to develop your own vision of what you thought Steem it would/should/could be.

Is this your way of telling people to network and find their "niche?"

I think in a few weeks when Steemit hits 1 million users we will see Steemit in the Main Stream Media, and everyone who has not been active on Steemit will come back and start being active again.. You have over 1500+ followers so I think if you stay consistent you will start noticing a change soon! 🤘😄

I'm sorry about walking around and being negative. I didn't look into those new changes communities/SMT etc and I don't know how they will effect us.
I really don't care about trending page since I never check it even if I do I don't expect to see something worthy.
There are solutions to everything, if we annoyed by memes. I gathered an idea from some other project that posts contents under a main post like a comment this way people can share memes without destroying their feed or annoying their followers.
I've been thinking about a design community (actually a dribbble clone-ish something) and my goal is to make that place invitation-only and count only application's users vote to display worthy content on its trending page or wherever they need to be displayed (..obviously it won't attract any current investor). It's about ethics, I'm actually a designer so I'm a noob developer thanks to steemit and I can see those things can happen, these guys literally knows to talk with computers with 0 and 1s but they choose to be greedy without noticing the potential of steemit. I've seen that you are worried about loosing investors but if they earn 1 by investing 1 with bid-botes, and after we get rid of those bots and inequal situations we may attract more people so their 1 investment could worth more than 1. I still didn't invite any of my friend or family member into this mess. Because I know it's not about share something and get rewarded. Yeah my english fails me again. So I'm just gonna end it here, hope it's not going to give headache to whoever try to understand what I've just wrote :)

Zombie Adventure game by @happyme, a game inspired by the zombie game but modeled after Warhammer 40k by @daclawboyz and the steempunk game which is really not a game but a way to inspire people to interact with each other's blogs and is having technical difficulties with maintaining a connection to the required servers.

We heard of so many projects last summer that were supposed to "compete" with Steemit, but where are they?

Steemit & STEEM are reaching mainstream levels, and with everything happening with Facebook.. We may very well be the next big thing!

With dlive, dtube, dsound, zappl, steepshot, and all of the others.. We may be taking the same path already!

Rep goes up with incoming votes and goes down with flags. So when you get upvotes your rep goes up and when you get flagged it goes down.

That is correct. The higher the rep of the upvoters, the more it affects your rise in reputation. I would note though, that some bid bots have moderate reputations. So gaming the system is still possible.

Just on chistmas Time, nobody was being with real money SP Power. Because of the High Price that time. Now, the time changed again and people invest they real money again into Steemit. It is a up and down always.

Totally agree with you. Everyone should use Steem as they see fit, I do and im having a great while in doing it.
And I dont think its very hard to get some profit because I did and I am a total social media noob, only used Facebook for the chat and started cryptocurency because of Steem, so a total crypto-noob to.
If I can make some money with Steem, everyone should be able to!!

Time is wasted on fights while the world keeps spinning. So much could be done with the amount of passion high profile steemers invest in heated arguments and downvotes. Steemit is a gift but people complain whose blog is the shittiest. I agree, scammers and bad influences have to be isolated but seeing some drama going around reminds me of my nieces fighting over whose soup bole is more full.

I do believe today steem is an open platform with allot of potential and possibility.
What does steemit look like five years from now. I think what you see woth these wide open platforms with allot if profit on the table is a day when rules come in to by ownership to limit and curb certain behavior. Not to say there is anything inappropriate going on but whos to say that there isnt?
We might see limitations on how much you can post based o how much steem power you have. I agree with the author, we might be seeing the golden years of steemit. I think this is a time for members build to build there accounts.for this social media platform based on blockchain. Steemit will be a giant. I would just like to have half of one percent of what steemit would be worth.

Absolutely Whoever have issues with the working can definitely move to alternate platforms however what have me thinking is the growth plan here. My current aim is to bring more and more people to join steemit this would also strong my position and the currency and even thoe i succeed in getting them I'm facing issues with keeping them motivated.

With prices nose diving to lowest most don't think its worth spending time writing a post here. for that matter even i reduced the number of posts since I don't have a godfather here who'll give me a basic minimum payout. Even after being here for a decent amount of time most of my posts trend at .10$ that too if m lucky.
