Just Keep Posting...

Steemians can get grumpy when the price is low.

Don't mind all the problem solvers and the angry folks.

Remember that the blockchain is pretty much the only ruler of Steem.

The blockchain just does what it does without judgement.

It sends rewards to people after it calculates votes, both up and down.

Find some people who you like what they write about and support them.

If in that process you see something you really dislike or think is bad for the platform give it a flag.

If something doesn't interest you, pass it by.. ignore.

If you do those three things you are exercising your influence with your stake.

Lots of people have opinions on what is or isn't good for Steem.

Many of them state their opinions as fact.

Some days I get triggered by it and sometimes I am more in touch with their ability to post what they want.

The price is down, but the whole market is down, so I am not taking it as a reflection of Steem.

Usage is pretty steady.

Everything is okay

I know where you're coming from and think Bitcoin and some cryptos like Steem will go back up but it looks like dark times ahead for the crypto world. Right now I think cryptos will fall and later we will need some Quantitative Easing which will help put money back into some cryptos like Steem.

Are you going to buy more Steem if it drops to $1?

You bet I will. I bought just a little the other day as well.

I think we could see $5-$10 at the end of this year. Steem is the only crypto I really like. I'm guessing Bitcoin will be at $5,000 at the end of the year. I'm bearish on most cryptos in the near term and doubt most will do that well in the long term. Steem and SBD seem like the only real crypto assets.

Once all the other cryptos really tank I think people will take a second look at the Steem blockchain especially since SBD should have very strong support at $1 and Steem as well.

I didn't think steem would go back to $1 but it does look more likely now. It doesn't bother me, the only price that counts is the one you buy at and the one you sell at. I don't know why people get so emotional. If you write off your investment in crypto and have zero expectations, then there's no stress. I still think the market will go to new highs later in 2018 or early 2019 but that's just a guess and it doesn't matter if I'm wrong. It's not nice getting much smaller rewards here but it's the same share of the reward pool, so it doesn't bother me.

theres always the petro

: ) Everything is ok, truly...it is.

Especially for those of us who don't live in Venezuela.

And if you do please don't take offense to that comment.

Many of my South American friends have told me economic horror stories del Sur. (from the south)

Where inflation is so out of control that you're poorer in the morning than when you went to sleep the night before.

That you might need pay for a meal before you start eating so you're sure you have enough left to pay when you're done. (that one could be a little exaggerated).

This a place where blockchain and cryptocurrency are looked at with desperate optimism.

Where you buy flagging cryptos even in a downward trend because it's still better than having a pocket full of shrinking Bolívars.

In a lot of ways Steemit doesn't make sense or doesn't seem fair.

But such is life, and more so for some than others.

Steemit lets us express ourselves, say hi to friends, post silly pictures (often not our own), grumble to the gathering, and sometimes say important things.

And, yes, get paid for it. And I ask what is the fair going rate for speaking your mind or unweighing your soul.

Even at $0, it's still cheaper than seeing a therapist. :)

Is it true that the cause of the fall in the price of crypto is the result of a bitcoin break in korea?

Why affect the global market?

Nobody knows why, and if they say they do, you shouldn't trust them in my opinion.

As far as my knowledge goes, the entire crypto market is so volatile in general that even the slightest hint of information can tip the scales in any direction. Last year, we had a huge hype, this year, we are spiraling down. But who knows how things will look next week?

I don't know if I'll ever financially top the ~$20 post I had when STEEM was around 9 cents each, but I don't ever forget it when the price drops. Down prices are always the best time to be posting in my opinion.

I had that same thought. Payouts kind of suck but there is also less competition with fewer people posting. The rewards may not be immediate but it could pay off in the long term...Or that's what I tell myself, anyway. lol

I see a lot of Steemians getting really emotional very fast. I'll never be able to understand this kind of behaviour. Just do your thing and enjoy possibilities that blockchain provides... :)

I'm still posting stories. I hope you'll check out the latest installment of The House. Just finished the chapter.

Looking forward to it!

It was fellow Steemian @marketreport who first identified bitcoin derivatives as a threat to the crypto space. It allows the financial sector to control the price of bitcoin, just like they control the price of gold. Sure enough bitcoin dropped like a stone and it seems to drag all other cryptos down with it. There is nothing wrong with Steem. It just seems to be a victim of price manipulation.

The price is down, but the whole market is down, so I am not taking it as a reflection of Steem.

Indeed, it was the bitcoin reaction and not the steemit alone, although steemit is down a bit also but this is the effect of bitcoin crash!

Keep steeming indeed

Yep... most of the time, best way is not to overthink about all the possible problems and carry on. Keep it simple!

Yes, everything is perfectly fine because it's about the market and related to the Market Capitalisation so, Steem is perfectly doing it's job and it's upon us how we can focus towards right direction and how to get the enthusiasm to post continuously without any perception. Here i want to give an example, in life we face the adversity situation and some time we let down us but we soon understand it and we motivate us like it's not about you let's getup and fight. Same way, Steem is the great opportunity no matter how many pros and cons you are searching for.

In life there are many reasons to stop but we need one reason to continue and Steem is that one reason because there are many who are witnessed this change in their lives, and who knows, may be you are the next to witness the success. So, find out that one reason to continue.

Thanks for sharing this post with us and wishing you an great day. Stay blessed. 🙂

Like life there is a phase of up and down as well as the price of crypto up and down so do not panic keep writing and work

Sage advice. I just wish I had the SP to support more with upvotes. Also wish I had more time to search out the good content providers even though I have an enviable list on my feed.

I feel sorry for whales that cash out in low times like this like the poor folks selling when Bitcoin is in the dip.

Keep calm and Steem on (and enjoy the awesome SP rewards!)

The price is down, but the whole market is down, so I am not taking it as a reflection of Steem.
That resumes the attitude we need right now. We have to be patient and continue to do the same work we have been doing here, at least all of us that think long-term.

Good mellow life reflections, I like this. It's good to see a steady well measured response to things rather than a rant or scream. And anyway, isn't the down time the time to buy? :)

Yes, when the price is down it is a good time to buy!

Keep calm and Steem on. While the reward is low, as long as the author writes, there will always be a certain amount of reward.

I had a response in mind, but by the time I finished reading your post, I couldn't find that response. Anyway, I agree with you on all points.

I'm a wait and see kind of guy. So even when the price is down, I keep posting.

Excellent!

Excellent. Now would be the time to buy up big if the markets were to suddenly improve.

But the better way forward is to just earn the SBD with decent content.

I guess this is my advantage of being new to the platform. I have no clue what it was like when steem was $5+.

Like Dori says, "just keep swimming"!

Whether I get 20 cents or 32 cents for a post doesn't make any difference to me. I'm not posting for the money, I'm posting for the creative outlet.
Steem on! :-)

You are so on point.
Sometimes, it baffles me when people lay emphasis on "quality content" when quality content is actually related.
I watched a video of @Ned in Korea and was explaining the concept of steemit. He did made it clear that one post just what he/she would do normally on steemit and get reward. But some big users have really being discouraging new users by their "quality content"

Imaging taking hours to make a post and getting little or nothing at all. But on the trending, you will see a post of just a Photo being rewarded awesomely. Now the price of steem is dropping, what will be the mindset or attitude of new users who doesn't make anything before now to do? They simply will leave and even when the price goes up, they won't even care because they can't post freely here

That's what I plan to do.

It won't stay down forever :)

❤️ your positive thinking!

That is right. One more thing, here in steemit we dont just focus on reward, we are prioritizing what we want and what we enjoy. Connect, Share and interact. The joy that we feel is priceless.

If the value of cryptocurrencies goes down you just have to work harder to get them and as you say support the creators of content, writers, artists and among others but of your preference, the markets will stabilize sooner or later you just have to keep positive vibes.

Keep posting......
Upvote what you like.......
Flag what you dislike........
Ignore what doesn't interest you.....

That is the spirit. Keep on steeming

A simple adage that I try to remind myself of often is, "Content is king." Time and technology are going to work at their own pace; there will always be setbacks, disappointment, confusion, and general distrust during periods of growth and uncertainty. However, I believe it is our job as users to be productive and hold ourselves to a high standard. If we contribute independent, high-quality works consistently and continually to this platform, the content itself will build the foundation that Steem needs under it.

Inversely, if we flood the system with scammy, low-quality, "contentless" crap about how rich we're all going to get if we throw fifteen bucks at this groundbreaking ICO, I can certainly imagine Steem being shortlived.

In short, you're right. Keep posting, keep utilizing the system, stay active. But—we must be our own keepers; only valuable content will see us through the beta phase.

Life is all about UPS and down and that's what the crypto world is facing.
Keep calm, better days are ahead

Just keep posting posting posting 🐠🐠🐠

In my short experience on the Steem platform I never cared about the price of Steem. If I had something to write about I would do that. In time all the cryptocurrencies will go up in prices, in my opinion. It's just that they do that in waves and people start to panic when they see prices going 50-60% lower from the ATH. Even at this price BTC is worth more than last year on this time so were's the reason to be worried about? For daily traders is another situation, but if you plan on investing for at least one year I think it doesn't matter what a coin does from a week to another or even months.

My last payout from post was 8.52$. That was 10.27$ when i posted it. The steem price decreases as well as my payout. I was so much upset. I just got barely near to 3 SBD from this post and some SP. As i was not old user and very little investor in steemit so it make me disappointed. Also for last some bid bots i got lose. So i decided to leave steemit for a while. But after that i am thinking give up is not the solution and i can not stay longer without steemit. So my mind returned to it. After that i posted some and using bid bots i got some votes too. Don't know what will be the payout is, but i wanted to attach with the steemit and the users.

Do you know how many people would be excited about $8.27 for content that likely holds little value outside of SteemIt?

You need to adjust your expectations.

I am glad you are working at finding a way to make it work.

This is not my regular payout amount :) . Before some days i brought 20 SBD from a friend with my pocket money and start to invest little by little in a post. The biggest one was may be 21$. Then continuously getting less and less from payout and now this is the situation that my recent payout is about 1-2$ in average. I am with steemit with a hope that one day my SP will reach to a level when i don't have to think about lose. Also i like to donate in good project and shares votes to users :)

I just post whatever I feel like posting at the time. I just started not even three weeks ago, no reason to stop now. I was in for a bumpy ride anyway.

We are dollar cost averaging.

Steem on and post more and in 7 days you have another payment in the pipe!
