With the help of infrared light, experts have also revealed that on the back of the Tuscan landscape, Leonardo originally drew another sketch on which he captured the landscape with the bridge. It is not clear whether the author himself subsequently erased the drawing or faded hundreds of years until it almost disappeared. The new discovery was announced by scientists on the occasion of the impending five-year anniversary of Leonardo da Vinci's death.
