What’s Steem Bounty?

If you’re a regular reader of this blog, you may have earned some bounty on your comments here. Those bounties were offered to you with the help of Steem Bounty project. Now this platform has its own website where you can easily find all the bounties listed according to tags.

Once an author sets some bounty (of whatever amount) on her post, that bounty is bound to be distributed among the commenters on that post at the time of post pay out. The share of the bounty to each parent-comment is decided by the author as well as community (according to the votes on comments). 80% of the bounty is on the discretion (upvote weight) of the author but remaining 20% totally depends on community upvotes. All this calculation is done automatically by the Steem Bounty software at the time of post payout and payment is sent instantaneously. Isn’t it interesting?

An opportunity for Bounty hunters

So if you are looking for bounties, you just need to visit Steem bounty website and log into it with the help of SteemConnect. It’s the safest way available to login to a 3rd party dApp without sharing your posting keys directly with them.

Once you log in, you can browse several bounty posts listed there. These are categorized under Biggest Bounties, Latest Bounties and Expiring Bounties.

On the right side-bar, there is a search feature according to categories / tags. It’s better to use search box because if you use “VIEW ALL” feature and click some category at the bottom of the list, you won’t be able to see any listing until you scroll the page all the way up.

Setting up a bounty

Setting up a bounty is very easy. If you are creating your post using the editor in the Steem Bounty platform, then before you click the post button, you will find a text box where you can set the bounty amount.
