On Buying 10 STEEMsteemCreated with Sketch.

I generated the image above because I just bought and powered up 10 STEEM. That's right. I finally put some money where my mouth is.

Yesterday something exciting happened. For a brief moment, the price of STEEM popped over $0.2.

IMHO, it would be fantastic if STEEM held above that elusive $0.2 cent mark.

I had 772 STEEM POWER. If STEEM traded at over $0.2, then my 100% upvote would be worth half a STEEM.

A really fun thing happens when one's upvote is worth more than half a STEEM. Since SteemIt.com rounds up, my $0.005 upvote would display in the vote value drop down menu as $0.01.

People start to notice an account when it has an appreciable upvote.

Most Steem users know the problem with the $0.02 cutoff. There are many people who upvote posts needing a boost to break the dust cut off.

I Like to Dust Votes

BTW, when I see a post that I push over the $0.02 mark, I will upvote it so that the author and curators get their rewards.

Personally, I think the best thing a Steemian can do is to buy enough STEEM so that they can dust posts. Currently, this happens around 3200 STEEM POWER.

The cut off changes with the price of STEEM. When the price of STEEM rises, it is easier for small accounts to get rewards.

I Don't Have Any Money

I have little money and can't put my money where my mouth is. So, yesterday I dropped a burn post. The post sends 50% of the reward to @null.

I realized that that was not enough.

I had 20 SWAP.HIVE on Hive.Engine. I decided to send 10 HIVE to a Diesel Pool on TribalDex. In typical fashion. The money simply disappeared.

I hate swap programs.

I hate swap programs.

I hate swap programs.

Swap programs malfunction on a regular basis. When they do, the money sent to the swap is simply gone.

I've lost several hundred dollars to swap programs. SWAP programs just take your money and leave you feeling sick because there is nothing you can do when they misfire.

Fortunately, I still had some SWAP.HIVE.

I bought SWAP.STEEM on Hive-Engine which I then transferred t STEEM. Fortunately this second swap worked. So, I was able to power up.

I would have powered up more STEEM. But I lost half of the money in a swap.

I hate swap programs.

As for the Picture

I've been generating an image a day on Night Cafe. The picture shows a diminutive man in the lower left corner holding a buy sign which the other investors study the signals.

Here is a link to the higher resolution picture.

Conclusion

I really enjoyed that brief moment when STEEM traded above $0.20. The USD value of our votes rise when STEEM rises. It would be fun to have enough STEEM to sweep the dust for small accounts as I want to support the small accounts.
