To coincide with its hosting of the Men's World Cup in Bhubaneswar and Rourkela from January 13–29, Hockey India has introduced a new metaverse product. Hockey India asserts that the debut of "Hockeyverse" across the governing body's social media channels is a first for a national sports federation. It is intended to improve the tournament experience for spectators all around the world.
There are several interesting attractions in the "Hockeyverse," including a replica of the recently constructed Birsa Munda Hockey Stadium and The Time Machine, a structure outside the stadium's main entrance with two rooms that give a quick overview of Indian Hockey's past and present accomplishments.
Hockey enthusiasts from around the world will have a new virtual experience to enjoy their favourite sport in the comfort of their own homes on a personal computer thanks to "Hockeyverse." They are welcomed to the "hockeyverse" virtual world page after typing the "Hockeyverse" URL into a browser.
Fans can then choose between a male and female virtual avatar after entering their name and email address. They should then press the "Enter Hockeyverse" button. Once logged in, fans can use their keyboard and mouse to explore the Hockeyverse.
