Day 17 - Steem Advent Calendar 2017, Win prize everyday! 🎄🎁

This year was not a good year..though I am not complaining... .I'm alive and it could have been worse. I have some pretty high goals set for myself and I'm excited to start. I was married for 19 years to a very very abusive man. Physically, verbally, financially and he was unfaithful throughout our whole marriage including with my sister. I don't know what happened. ..I graduated high school with a 4.0 G.P.A. Received a scholarship from the Navy Wives Club and had a free ride Cal grant A and B plus free financial aid for four years. I was young ..okay looking ..confident and happy. So I'm unsure how I allowed myself to become this person. I had left numerous times but always returned. ..I truly believed I loved this man and was doing the right thing. In 2014 I moved out and divorced him. For a good year I felt young , happy and free. But by 2016 I was back with him. Not really violent now..but not really a relationship either . ..he asked me to marry him and I got happy I was sad being alone ...I felt old. .I put on weight again ..A LOT of weight . I have a severe panic disorder and have been in disability for 6 years now. ..this isn't how I saw my life. He needed a mommy and I needed a crutch . So with that being said you now know my back story. This year I found out I'm pre-diabetic..borderline high blood pressure. .and super FAT. I am undergoing more tests currently as well . SO # 1 I will change my eating no more fast food or processed food . I will follow my Drs orders. And starting an excersise program with a personal trainer. I have already begun the process. I cleaned my house out of all bad foods and have my first appts. scheduled with a dietician and trainer. This will be hard but my head is in the game..I'm going eat to live..not live to eat...I do not want to be an emotional eater any longer...I'm not trying to die this year :) Also #2 after Christmas I have worked out another living situation. ..I do not want to marry him ..I just thought I did because I had no faith in myself. This too is a scary move for me ..but I can do it. Also I have been accepted to the four year dental hygienist program at UNLV...only 40 people are chosen each year and I was one of them. That's pretty exciting! I was a C.N.A for 10 years. .so this is kinda up my alley but I would be paid double and choose my own hours which helps when you have an anxiety disorder. And I want to be self sufficient NOT on disability.
So school is # 3. I have spent years as a shut in..being so sick this year made me realize. .it's what I didn't do that I regret. I need to have a life and live it not just exist! ! So # 4 go out...make friends and volunteer somewhere. # 5 SAY NO!! Over the years I have become a doormat....I do for everybody else and nothing for myself. ..I don't mind doing for others. ..but not when I'm being used and its not returned . And lastly # 6
I am going to invest money into crypto currencies. ..join the rest of the world :) These are BIG GOALS and I will have struggles...but I WILL SUCCEED!! And I plan on sharing and journaling it all on Steem !! :) Could use all the the encouragement and support I can get :) :) Sorry this was so long ...I just wanted everyone to understand where I was and just how hard it will be to get where I'm going...but I WILL GET THERE!!

Aw, good for you finally breaking away and outlining the steps you plan to take to change your life. Sounds as though your ex is a narcissistic sociopath. Don't blame yourself. Those types are very good at being chameleons till they get what they want and you're no longer a challenge. You're pretty and have a radiant smile! I think a dental career is a good match. We have an excellent group on Steemit dedicated to healthy eating, recipes, exercise, etc. Good luck in 2018! @kayleigh-alesta

My new years resolution is to stop fretting about cryptocurrency values and see it as one-big game.

Just because money is involved, doesn't mean it is not a game.

Do we freak out this much when we play a monopoly board-game? NO. That makes us better game players.

2017 didn't go as I had hoped but it is ending well because I joined steemit. Alot of things excite me about 2018 one of which is that I would be going for NYSC. The service will grant me the opportunity to meet new people and get acquainted with a new environment is what I look forward to. I will use that opportunity to introduce people to steemit. I (together with some friends) have made plans on helping homeless kids and I am so positive about it. Inot a "new year resolution" person but if I had to make some it would be to stop procrastinating and also to stop seeing the negative aspect of things.

I have no intentions for 2018. It should not only be thought about good deeds or values at the turn of the year. Much more should we live every day as if it were New Year's Eve. We should go ahead and do good every day of the year. Good for people, good for animals and good for nature. And we should not ask what could enrich us, but what we can give back to others.....

I am so excited about life, being alive to the end of 2017 is not easy, all the rough roads, hard struggles, failures and sickness could not put me down.
I am exited about knowing Steemit and Blockchain, I knew steemit some months ago and my life has changed, a lot has happened and I am very grateful, this year was the best year of my life because it is the genesis and beginning of my success story.
Lastly, I am exited about everyone on steemit, you @good-karma for giving everyone the opportunity to earn SBD and also post contents with their phones on the esteem app, your kind heart will remain blessed. Every other steemian out there trying to make life with the steemit platform I am exited about them because their lives are about to change.

@good-karma I am looking forward to the new year and new possibilities on Steemit. My new year's resolution would be to save for a real camara so I can participate more in the photo challanges with quality shots as my cellphone's camara just don't give me the quality I want.

My 2018 New Year's resolution is to report "good behavior." That's right. Whenever someone does an especially noteworthy job, goes out of his or her way to be extra helpful, or I witness a random act of kindness, I make a point to get the individual's name, ask to speak to his or her supervisor, and commend the individual's actions. I cannot tell you how good it makes me feel to know someone will get an unexpected compliment, letter of commendation, or even a raise by my taking 5-10 minutes of my time to be nice! And let's be honest, who doesn't like a little positive recognition every now and then?! It costs nothing to be nice to others!

Day 17 Advent @good-karma

2018 is going to be exciting, with introduction to Steemit on Oct'17 (almost end of 2017), I am carrying a good stuff into new year, and hope to make it counts as the life and time moves onto next chapter.

My 2018 Resolution : haha...earlier all resolution were made just to be broken, but lately I have started to take it seriously, and it started counted in my life. So coming year, I will resolute on few thing:

Prioritising steemit, will make every effort to popularise steemit in India. Already started with "TeamIndia" formation at discord, making it a cohesive unit and taking it further
Health is Wealth, Lately met with an accident since then my physical workout is NILL, so going to next year will start regular exercises in morning.

Well these are the two most as i have planned now still 15 days to go, will schedule more as per he needs.

What excites me the most about 2018 is the high potential of REAL-WORLD USE-CASE oriented cryptos changing the world in massive ways starting in the coming year.

My 2018 New Years resolution is a 2-parter...

Starting with a common one... to quit smoking these damn disgusting cigarettes.
And following up with another one to better educate my family and friends on the crypto space, each coins/tokens specific use cases, and their future potential value so they can better make better investment decisions in the coming year (and as part of this I want to start a Steemit account for each one of them).

In 2018, I hope to see the evolution of cryptocurrencies, from a virtual coin meant for geeks, to a currency that's being accepted world wide..

I also hope to share my knowledge about cryptocurrencies to more people in hope that with more people using cryptos, we will see more demand and higher growth in value.. I will be sharing in videos how to mine cryptocurrencies without sophisticated equipments.

I hope this will become the bridge to averaging out the difference between the rich and the poor in many parts of the world..

On a personal level, I'm excited (and nervous!) to enter the real world! I graduated last week and start my first real job in February. On a global level, I'm just really excited to be alive at this point in time. I feel like advances in science and technology are happening at an increasing rate, while increased internet exposure has done so much to spur on big societal changes. Every year feels newer and crazier and brighter than the last!

I'm not really a big New Years resolution guy but I've got a little goal of running 1000 miles in a year.

I generally like even years better than odd years, so that's one reason to be excited for 2018! It sounds like a sci-fi year from the distant future, and soon we'll be living it.

My resolutions and the things I'm excited about go hand-in-hand.

First are the things that are already working for me that I'd like to continue doing:

Keep making daily video journals.
Keep practicing yoga and doing bodyweight workouts daily.
Keep up my Spanish through books, Memrise, YouTube, and Tandem.
Keep going to at least one new place a week, having regular mini-adventures, and trying new things.
Keep reading around one book a week

Then there are the things I'd like to change this year, mostly focused on the other people in my life:

Get more involved in my local community and join a volunteer organization.
Support my boyfriend in his music project any way I can and get the Steemit community involved.
Make money or at least get funding for the startup I'm working on with friends.
Get back into curating others' quality content on Steemit.
Have more regular chats with my family.
Spend a month each in 2 or 3 new places, preferably on housesits or staying with acquaintances.
Catch up on writing down some of my old stories (especially the Adventure Reading ones)

I want to add so many more things to this list, but maybe I should add "Don't try to do too much" to it instead!

What excites me about New Year 2018 is that a very productive and successful year is coming to an end and I can make all my plans for 2018 happen very soon. I made a lot of plans and to-do's for 2017 in 2016 and I was able to accomplish most of them. 2017 was overall productive for me. I don't believe in new year resolutions, instead I always think that now is the best time to make a resolution, If you have something on your mind you should take action right now, rather than waiting for the new year.

My new year resolution is to keep being productive, try new things out, learn from mistakes, try try try fail fail fail and get success. Even for the next year I will have this exact resolution as it absolutely works and I would recommend everyone to try this as you can thank me later for your success :)

What really excites me this coming 2018 is the opening and launching of SMT's for I am really longing for what is goin to happen with my beloved steems and sbd's. I had read many blogs and speculations that steem is going to the moon how I wish it's gonna be true and it will skyrocket up to 20$/steem aside from that my new year resolution will be is be always me since we individuals are the ones who can control ourselves so what I can say is I will stay as me no other than but me. I am really satisfied with health and well-being for my children, my brothers, my parents, my husband and all those beautiful people that make my days wonderful. and that my God gives me strength to keep going and make my children a good man ... otherwise I do not worry, as long as I have life and health my expectations will be with my children eating the world.

2018 should be a self-conscious year. This means learning how to choose a battle that suits my ability. I must be more aware of what is worth fighting for, this will ensure that I am in the right corridor. By 2018, I will take the time to reflect on myself and get to know myself better. No matter how ridiculous this is, I will make a list of anything that interests me and I will do it passionately. And I will never think what people think. The exciting part of 2018 will definitely be the projected interest in altcoins, I think bitcoin has had it's moment in the sun, and when more people discover steem we shall see a real shift in content creation and consumption.
I don't really have a new year's resolution per se, but I will try to focus more on being healthy both physically and mentally, which it's not easy with stressful environments and bad food present at every street corner trying to tempt you to buy it. I am also looking forward to sharing that journey here on steemit :)

My baby turns 18 this month and graduates in May. So my new years resolution is to discover me again. I will always be a mom but I gave birth to my oldest at 18. I'm excited that I will be entering my penultimate year in college and I'm getting close to completion of my college degree.

My new year resolution is to dedicate my self to the Lord's work. Lately, I've backslided and forgotten about God's promises in my life. But with the beginning of a new year 2018, I want to re-dedicate my life to him.

Each person will have problems that he would like to solve. Hope that this will be next year or next ...
December 21 I have my last day at the company where I worked for 19 years. The company liquidates its representative offices in the regions and more than a hundred of people are dismissed, including myself. What will the new year give us? I dont know.
The main thing is health and a great mood for a positive result, despite all the problems.
Do not forget about family and close people.

The project is tagged "Campus Youth-Reach"whose purpose is to reach out to undergraduate enlightening them on discovering their life's purpose as well as live it no matter the series of challenges they will face. The new phase this project will be taking is, the project will not only motivate these undergraduate in words but also in kind and cash. As a student, I have seen lots of students who usually find it out to eat 3 square meal a day and sometimes don't get to buy necessary handouts and I intend to reach out to them through my project next year, 2018.

Also, I will be publishing my first book titled "Ecstasies Through Challenges"
I'm just so excited about these two amidst others.

My Resolution
I will put more effort through the grace of God to grow more spiritual.

I will reach more youths through my project.

For the past 7+ years, I've been in the same company that my assigned project and the team I'm working with become my comfort zone. Lately, I'm at a crossroad so I think that next year's the best time for me to get out from this comfort zone. I must admit that it kind of scare me but at the same time, it excites me. I haven't tried to work with people outside the team and the project I'm part of. Finally, my new year's resolution is after I come to get out from this crossroad, I want to volunteer. I want to find and discover something that's meaningful for me and get to participate and be part of it.

I quit making New Year's revolutions because just like 90% people I made a couple, stuck to it for a month or two and then went back to same old me.
I find it better to make your revolution today, why wait 1.1.?
My motto is "One day.... or day one" so nothing really excites me in the 2018, I know I'm gonna try to give my best and stick to it for as long as blood is flowing through my veins. :)

first of all I am already in new year hehe according to our calendar but as I seeing regular calender then i would be so excited because what I think is if we enter in new year then we also enter in new start and we become postivie that we will do great in new year and thus my resolution is I will find girl for me because it's my parents wish that they want to see me marry then another thing is batter life because here we are doing very hard work and want to give batter life to my family. Many things excites me about 2018, and I am looking forward to it. I will have to mention some below.

2018 will mark a remarkable year in crypto currency history, and many people will adopt the new financial system.
2018 is a FIFA world cup year. Football is my favorite sport and I would love to see many teams compete with one another to win the prestigious trophy.
2018 will mark my silver jubilee as a human existing on earth.

My Resolution

I will invest in crypto currencies and possibly conduct a local trading system for those not acquainted with the knowledge of crypto currencies.
I will engage in development projects as regards steemit in my local zones with other steemians.
And lastly, I will concentrate on improving my contributions to steemit.

To be honest, what excites me the most this 2018 is not the crypto currency craze but a more simple thing, and that is LIFE. I am excited in how my life would be next year, will I successfully graduate from college? will I finally be able to see my girl again? and maybe ask her to marry me? will I ever pass our board exam? will I become more sociable and open to people? will I become a better man? a better son? a better lover? and a better person this 2018? This is what I am excited about and at the same time nervous because the future is uncertain for all of us. All we can do is hope for the best.
As for my new year's resolution, I will try to be the steemit CEO, but then of course I had never accomplished any of my new year's resolutions. So, I will just go where the flow of life will take me.

The expectations of the New Year are very exciting. I'm looking forward to it. Most of all I care about 3 things:

How do I celebrate my 30th birthday? Oh, how it will not be easy.
How my son will behave in kindergarten. In the summer he will be 2 years old, and he will go there for the first time.
As soon as my son adapts a bit in the kindergarten, will he like the football section, in which we will walk with him.
