Hello Steem world, hope everyone is doing well. Today I humbly present to you my second post which deals with the basic security on steem. When we talk about security, it means the condition of not being threatened. And in the context under review, I think it has to do with how we safeguard our passwords so that we don't lose our accounts, to insure that our efforts will not be in vain in this platform. In steem, four keys have been made to perform different functions and they are (1) The Posting key. (2) The Memo key. (3) The Active key. (4) The Private Owner key. I understand that we must keep these keys offline in a safe place and in my own part, I have done justice to that effect. And I encourage every new steemian to do same. Furthermore, it is important that we must understand the functions of these keys. I have studied the documents very well and to the best of my knowledge, I know what each key is meant for. Hence, I am going forward to buttress it.
(1) Posting key. It seems to me that this is the most commonly used key on this platform because we use it on daily basis for the purpose of login in to make a post. Also to comment, vote, resteem, follow or mute other accounts. (2) Memo key. This key is very important because we use it to encrypt or decrypt memos each time we do transfer of funds. (3) Active key. This key is required when voting for witnesses . We also need it in the conversion of steem dollars and in the process of powering up or down of fund. (4) Private owner key. When our account is compromised, this is the very useful key required to recover it. We also need it to change the key of an account. Going further, I want to say that I have practiced some of the things I enumerated above like voting for witness using the active key. Again I have studied how to transfer my steem from my account to another steem user. In addition I have studied how to power steem up or down. I have also stored my master password in a safe place offline. I can confidently say that my account is secured. I judge it unfair on my part if I fail to appreciate the founder of this platform for giving us something so big and strong and that thing is steem. I want to appreciate @cryptokannon of newcomers community, your efforts in insuring the training of new members will not be in vain. Also I extend my gratitude to @steem.history for welcoming me in my introduction post. I thank you @focusnow of steemalive. God bless you all.
