Normie Talk: Deciphering Steem Alliance "Structure Proposals"

in steemalliance •  6 years ago  (edited)

Hey My J's,

As you may or may not know, I often mousy around these parts, dropping comments and posting random thoughts and that's kinda what I like to do. I'm not the most active and involved steemian by any stretch of the imagination.

However I do get wind of certain things happening that may affect the site so I can keep up to date. One of them has been the @steemalliance new structure proposal.

Which is safe to say has gone over most of our heads, I mean I've read a white paper or two in my time but damn this is the internet, instant answers is what we want.

So In a bid to place these concepts into mortal tongue I've decided to get involved, yes to be a blockchain busy body for once.

Proposal engage

Steem alliance will act as a foundation that works on behalf of the community to make decisions and execute tasks that the community deem beneficial to the growth of the chain and the various products involved in STEEM.

To ensure we build a foundation that reflects the current communities ideas and gets the best out of it, There are currently 6 proposals up for consideration on how the alliance should be structured. And there are as follows:

Comparing proposals

I've tried my best to try and simplify it for all of you so you can find the one that appeals to you most and then explore it in more detail. So which proposal do you think sounds like the best solution?

Have your say

What do you good people of steem think? Did I normie it up enough for you to understand? Did I do good @llfarms and @soyrosa?

Holla at me in the comments! All my commenters I will now refer to as Jessie. Jessie is a good friend of mine, but Jessies got a girl, and I want to make her mine.

So have at it my Jessies! If you don't have something to comment, simply comment "I am a Jessie."

Many thanks for your hard work in comparing these proposals. Could you please do some minor corrections concerning DeCentraSteem:

Primary Structure - Open to users willing to create their own working circle at least 5 users of 2000 SP each
Decision-Making - Existing working circles approve new working circles. Head count votes by working circle members in case of disagreements. First working circles approved through stake-based vote of community.
Funding Allocation - Funds allocated to working circles through approval by other working circles. Funds generated by working circles dedicated to funding (membership, donations, revenues).
Distribution via a trustee working circle.
Community Involvement - Minimum of five Steemians with at least 2000 SP can create working circles and step in to propose changes to a working circle
Transparency/Accountability - Every working circle must provide an update post at least every two weeks.

Thank you for comparing the proposals!

I would like to note that in my proposal the leadership structure is actually paid professional staff lead by the CEO, who is reporting to the elected board.

Elected board members have no direct say in day-to-day matters such as allocation of funds and on the other hand the leadership team has to abide by the direction and priorities set by the board - this is done to remove conflicts of interest and it's a solid and proven structure for organizations globally.
