Becoming a @steem-ambassador has been such a decision to me.
In a couple of weeks I'll be celebrating my second anniversary on Steem, so the timing makes sense in many ways. Life doesn't offer us these type of opportunities every day, but when they knock on the door we should know what to answer.
I've been a content creator and engaged community member in the Steem eco-system for almost two years now. Applying for the Steem Ambassador role was the next logical step to me.
I'm going all-in on Steem!

I'm just feeling great.
Since I've been in contact with the #promo-steem team - especially @starkerz and @cryptocurator - and since we evaluated the idea of me becoming an ambassador, I knew that this was the right thing to do.
Big life decisions can't only be made with our heads. The hearts needs to be involved, too. That's why I have this formula to evaluate new opportunities:
THINK - FEEL - ACT
- Think: Does it make sense from a rational perspective? ✅
- Feel: Does it make you happy? ✅
- Act: Sleep on it and then decide. ✅
Following these steps it's hard to ever have regrets.
Not everybody desires to be in the front-row. But those who do should take a chance.
My promise: Engagement!
During the ambassador's application process I was thinking a lot about what makes one become a 'good community member'.
I ended up realizing that there are many different approaches to hit that target. Yet all these different strategies have got one common denominator: They all aim to represent the public spirit and not only personal interests.
That's why I'll be trying to engage even more with the community, spend more time on reading than creating, aiming to understand the Steem network and its dynamics as well as the people and their concerns even better.

On the 8th of September two of my favourite steemians @cauac and @kilianparadise will organize a steemy get together on Canary Islands - under the umbrella of @steemitcanarias.
It's amazing to see how the Steem community has been growing lately on our beautiful islands, and I can't wait to celebrate that with you guys - and everybody who wants to follow the invitation.
There's a lot of flight connections from the main European airports to Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (LPA) every day. Check out the best connection and join us!
Getting more involved with the community is my no. 1 target.
Besides the general responsibilities of a Steem Ambassador, my personal roadmap isn't defined yet; it will be growing over time.
Yet I already have a concrete idea about my vision.

@surfermarly thank you for sharing your exp with STEEMIT. Will STEEMIT is going to introduce upload video feature in the future.
I think this platform has a potential to challenge facebook in the future if STEEMIT is ready to introduce new features and upgrade on daily basis.

I see you started to introduce Steemit-Projects as well, are you interested into introducing/promoting @steemworld? It´s a great Project and it has to offer way more than any other project i could compare it to, a project that could use advertisement and support by a "Promo-Ambassador". Sure, there won´t be a massive voteback like @cervantes provided, but thats not what you should be aiming for in your new position in my opinion. @steemchiller is putting a lot of work/time into this project and he is providing it completely free to the whole community with no limitations, it simply would be great if you/the team could consider to do so, it deserves support :).
Please don´t get me wrong here, i know this is not another typical congratulation like the others on this post, i´m simply very direct/honest/open here and as you´re a "Steem-Promotion Ambassador" now, i feel a need to leave you this comment.

It may disappoint you, but I'm not planning to jump on your sarcastic train, and will rather try to answer your questions in a professional way...:-)
I was really interested in ONO when it first appeared on my radar, but when I came to know how it was effectively managed and operated, I decided to decelerate and finally keep out of it. That all happened at a point in time when I was a bit disappointed about the delayed Steem projects such as Hivement and SMTs and the overall progress on Steemit.com. In the end the little excursion helped me to re-appreciate the benefits of Steem and to bethink myself of what I had already accomplished here. In the end Steem is what you make of it, and I was grateful to realize that once more.
On a side note: Those who read my Steem Ambassador application actually knew that already.
There's been a lot of discussion going on whether one can be enthusiastic about Steem and other crypto projects - such as EOS - at the same time, without being disloyal. I guess it depends on how much you effectively contribute to one project or another. As Steem Ambassador I'm definitely committed to Steem more than ever.
I don't think I'll be ever able to stop surfing one day, well unless I'd be too old for it! It helps me to free my mind after a couple of hours in front of the computer, and also keeps me in shape.
Well you should do your homework Mr. @schlees :-) Those who follow my blog know that even on Canary Islands we do have something called winter season which is not the best time for water sports. That is why we decided to do a winter break and also officially announced that. We weren't ever offline, but saved all the donations that came in in the meantime in order to do something nice this summer. From today's point of view that was the perfect strategy: our next event will be la bomba! :-)
