My First ... ONLY ... Commission

in steemartist •  7 years ago

I wasn't sure I was going to show this ... to be honest I'm still trying to develop my own style, and this just doesn't feel like me. I created the piece for the sister of a co-worker who requested this after seeing some of my work doodles that my co-worker seems to love.

I like to try different things and for some reason I was on a bit of a chibi kick which her sister is a big fan of. I do like how it turned out. So I have never done a commission before, this was new to me but I tried it out. I was given the names and the characteristics of the characters wanted in the poster. These were their D&D personas and the poster was a gift for their Dungeon Master.

So, I'll show it because although I am not a fan of the work I am proud of myself for going out of my comfort zone and creating something that someone else envisioned. Plus, it's the first time anyone has actually commissioned my work so it will be nice to look back in the future to see how far I've come.

And who knows, maybe some day I will get another commission ... maybe ...

I created this character poster using Copics and coloured pencils - Rose Art pencils I believe or maybe Prismacolours ... I can't remember now!

I really like it. Great characters. Love the wolf! Sometimes it's nice to work "outside the box."

Thank you! The wolf ... oh man that was the bane of my existence when it came to this piece! I ended up sketching very little of it and just colouring until I thought it looked like something :P ... Yes I love doing challenges for that reason, if you don't push yourself you can't expect to get better right! :)

Having someone not only asking you to do what you're fond of, but also pays you - it's such a great, fulfilling feeling!

Keep up the great work, keep getting your name and talent out there, and I'm sure you'll earn yourself another commission in no time!

Consider yourself followed, and if you're in roleplaying, feel free to stop by my blog. I'm attempting to help build a community of roleplayers here on Steemit.

Ha ha not sure I WANT to do another commission ... so stressful! I'll definitely take a look I'm an avid D&D'er so if you're starting a community of roleplayers, consider yourself followed ;) I'd love to take part!

Such cute characters. My favorite is the first one on the left.

Thank you :) He was my favourite too ;)
