I have finally hit 200 followers! I acknowledge a number of those are spammers and bots, it still feels like a milestone worth celebrating for my meager account. When we are looking at Earth, we are looking at the planet we call our home. The incredible natural resources and ingenuity of people living on Earth are combined to make an impressive output of different goods and services that are traded to sustain, inform and entertain.
The sheer scale of the world economy is mind-boggling. This fact teach us that each single year, humankind produces more than $70 trillion worth of goods and services.
Whether these are tangible goods or not, we are using natural resources of Earth to produce all of them. At least everyone is breathing the Earth’s atmosphere!
When we study and examine historical facts, we are able to see that the production of nearly all goods and services across the world really took off about 250 years ago with the beginning and rising of the Industrial Age.
Humankind is really good at exploiting the different materials the Earth offers, including forging metals mined from the surface at extreme circumstances.

One Titanic fact got its roots further back in history than you might be thinking.
When the builders of the big Titanic were searching for a right name, they wanted a name for this ship that meant huge. They wanted a name that elevated the Titanic as monumental work of shipbuilding. The shipbuilders Harland and Wolff chose this name from the Greek mythology.
The name "Titanic" comes from the word Titan. In the Greek mythology this Titans were the ancient gods of Greece.
