Steem Basic Income
Steem Basic Income is a social experiment to bring a basic income to as many Steemians as possible. Members join by sponsoring others into the program. Steem Basic Income is delivered through providing regular upvotes to member content.
Many of our members use the #steembasicincome tag for their contests, so check there for contests that we might not have resteemed!
Still Going Strong
We are up to six pools, so your upvotes could come from @steembasicincome, @sbi2, @sbi3, @sbi4, @sbi5, or @sbi6. We currently have 2019 members that have posted within the last 28 days, and many more members that have not. Unfortunately the members that are not posting are not receiving upvotes. There are currently 11453 'shares' in the program, and it grows every day.

All members that upvote consistently are rewarded with a bonus increase in their voting weight. To get the best benefit, we recommend using @steemvoter, @steemauto, or Streemian.
Our new enrollment processing system is in final testing, which will make it much easier to process enrollments, provide regular updates, and manage voting rules more consistently. We have been working very hard to be consistent with your updates so that members can achieve close to a full bonus without needing to upvote comments. I'm looking forward to the improvements that will come with full automation!
With the long bear market in STEEM/SBD pricing starting to recover, we have started using some of the fixed-return upvoting services again, and you can see some of that impact in the chart. It definitely helps boost long-term sustainability, as you can see in our 28-day SP rewards, which are gently up-trending again:

Enrollment
If you want to get involved, or to increase the share of basic income that you receive, enrollment is very straightforward:
Just send 1 STEEM to @steembasicincome. Include the name of a Steemian to sponsor in the transaction memo (preceded by @). You and the person you sponsor will each receive 1 share in the program. You can sponsor any active Steemian, it does not have to be a current member.

Helo @steembasicincome, i observed i was upvoted with 4% after i registered 3 persons then later it reduced to 3% upvote weight and now 2% for over a week now. Please what is the reason for that?

As far as I can tell, you moved up from SBI3 to SBI2. Also your posting average per week over the last 28 days was at 8 posts per week. Steembasicincome always takes the higher number of both frequencies.
SBI2 has more SP than SBI3, so needs less upvote weight to give you the same gain per week. (With the same posting frequency.)
Basically: You will always get the same support per week from steembasicincome. Your posting frequency and in which pool you are will determine how high your upvote weight per post is. A higher posting frequency will reduce the upvote weight per post, while a lower posting frequency (with at least one post per week) will increase the upvote weight per post.
You should still gain the same amount from your four shares as in the beginning (or a little bit more per week, but never less).
If you want some bonus shares (up to 100% Bonus) start upvoting the posts and comments from Steembasicincome. You can use services like https://www.steemdunk.xyz or https://www.steemauto.com to automate it.
Also sponsoring of course, to get more shares.

It says I can gain more upvote weight by upvoting sbi regularly. Is there a specific weight that needs to be upvoted? I want to set up my steem voter and need to know what to set it at.

Currently full bonus is gained from upvoting at 100%. In the future, we will recalibrate to reward back to you the actual value received from you (plus extra for incentive). If you are under-rewarded under the current system, we will catch you up when we release the new system, but it's looking likely to be a couple of months at least.

Here is a good explanatory post by steembasicincome, and if you click on the green link for "Membership List Sheet," it will take you to a spreadsheet that keeps track of members and a bunch of numbers I don't understand, but I see that you're in sbi5, and it shows that you have 2 shares.

i dont wanna cry wolf, but this IS wolf ... account value has gone down over the past days by at least 10%, which is noting but the standard wobble so far ... if a motion like that passes then how many people have given 1steem each, which is stuck in SP , which you can't withdraw overnight to give them back after said motion wrecks it completely, i have no idea how much you'd need to get a $0.10 vote out for everyone involved ? i'll estimate that at "too much for now" ... this is my innate social worker coming out, i cant help that, ring the alarm

thats good to hear :) i'm glad you still take the time to gather opinion and give out the correct information. I hope my voice on the matter wasn't lost in case anyone gets the same idea again in a few months as often in politics with unpopular laws that benefit only the 1%
Like i said, i came to offer opinion,not to advocate, and i still think what i propose is a valid and viable solution that should keep everyone happy. Out of sight out of mind. If speed of the blockchain is ever an issue then its already a problem as its inevitable that the number of accounts will grow and moore's law is dead for years.
I see too many upcoming witnesses make strong promises to strongarm the crowd into obedience. As you can see i did not withdraw my vote. I stand corrected but i still believe it's better to make too much noise too soon than too little too late. I hope you don't mistake my drive for hostility. I'm more of the 'speak softly but carry a big stick' philosophy... when I see these proposals, I try to get a sense for which way the wind is blowing and then respond accordingly. People are always suggesting things that they think will help, but limited perspectives make it hard to see the whole impact. Thankfully there are lots of people that shared with him the perspective he was missing... that of the struggling non-whale content creator...

well, we talked it over lol, i can get heated but well, i am who i am for a reason, as are we all i suppose , product of environment and past experience built on genetic disposition. I think it's nice if people with clout can stand a bit of dragons fire without going into attack mode so i think we'll get along now :p ... well i wouldnt call it advocacy , i have no intention of being the voice of the silent but it used to be a "career" plan but i can't even call it that, i just have certain traits that made me good for that, and on the side a bit of IT , with the 1e100 at my side im quite invincible lol , j/k ... it's not just mutual self intrest either though. I think its REALLY great people who arent even government just try to put something in place that actually works no matter how small, making something out of nothing that will eventually be a necessity for the future unless musk gets to mars next year and finds a prefab base or worst+best-case scenario, a virus wipes out 5 billion people ...

But that's fine, maybe because my post haven't met the requirement of quality post yet, I don't look for immediate reputation and big income too. it has to do with number of shares versus number of posts at the base and it also very much has to do with the current price in dollar ofcourse, also the system here on the fronten shows rounded numbers , if you were to have a payout of 0.005 it will show 0.1, if you have 0.005 to 0.014 it will still show 0.01, and so, the actual minimum if i am correct
(after much here and there, getting alarmed , getting corrected and figuring it out (or trying) at the moment is 0.019 so 0.02 (not-rounded) will be paid out)
at the time of speaking and by the best of my info as i could gather ... i got an alarmed reply higher up here which is already no longer actual as someone else told me ... its VERY hard to keep track of and steemit doesn't come with a manual. what @steembasicincome certainly doesn't do is have an a.i. check for 'post-quality' but i think if you just post "this is my post today" everyday they might develop a slight disgruntlement as that would be absolutely unfair towards participants who put at least some effort into it. so every post you make will get a vote by an sbi#X but the more posts you make a week the less that vote will weigh.
That is how i understand it so far and as always i happily stand corrected because if no one ever does then i'll never find out hahah. I think the best person to ask is @josephsavage in this case but the man is probably quite busy. So do sbi contests to increase your shares if you can't afford to put more steem in it, reserve an upvote for yourself (dont have shame in your game because someone else frowns on it, be reasonable, theres nothing wrong with advancing yourself a little, in the end you will be able to advance others more when you can split your vote because it weighs enough)
that's a bit of my opinion and 2 cents on the matter and i'll stop it here or i'll be writing another book , hope that was slightly useful lol
