IF YOU DON’T LOSE SOMETHING YOU CAN’T GAIN ANYTHING

Our text of focus today will be Matthew 10:39 but first let me talk to you; yes you who is probably wondering how you will gain back what is already lost. It’s simple: give and it shall be given back unto you. It is a myth, getting back what you already gave out; it takes understanding of spiritual laws to inculcate this into one’s system (spiritual system).

A lot of persons are so selfish that they think when they give out something (in this case money), that they do the other person a favor, yes you are helping that person fulfill a particular need at that particular time but if you look beyond what you see you will understand that you are sowing a seed; a seed that will germinate into a big tree someday. I have come to notice that persons you can find such act of selfishness are those that are called Christians; those who claim to be spiritual but neglect the spirit of GOD when it comes to giving.

Giving takes sacrifice, it takes courage and it takes trust in GOD. Let’s visit our text; Matthew 10:39 says He who finds his life will lose it, and he who loses his life for My (JESUS) sake will find it. Many Christians have a problem with this passage. There is a mystery in giving and like I said earlier it is a seed sown to be harvested (reaped) someday. JESUS was telling His disciples that the man who thinks he is securing his life is actually losing it.

GOD expects us to release our lives to Him, deny ourselves of pleasure of the flesh and allowing Him to take total charge; He borrows a man’s life (just because He can’t come in the flesh anymore, He still has work to do here on earth and He can only do that in the fleshy form, through a vessel, hence He requests for men to borrow Him their lives to live through them). GOD is not a wicked GOD, He knows when you borrow something there should be a recompense hence He promises man to return what He took from man.

This is hard for many people to do considering they no longer have control over their lives, the Holy Spirit now takes charge directing us to do GOD’s will, but many of us are disobedient to His call. A lot of people live life for themselves without any reverence to GOD, no fear, no honor. We believe GOD is so kind and merciful but we also forget that He is The Almighty GOD that can never be questioned, He does what He wishes.

I would rather lose my life to gain it back with glory on the last day than gain it now and lose it later. I want JESUS to take the first position in my life, I want JESUS to lead and be the LORD over my life, I no longer want to have a say over what I do, I want to be led by the Spirit of GOD (Galatians 5:16).

For all those who are CHRIST’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. A man who has lost his life to CHRIST has crucified his flesh which can no longer have control over his desires. Pray daily that GOD gives you the grace to give Him all, because He gave you all when He sent His son to die for a world that knew him not.

Every day I step out I see different persons who have no idea of what it is to deny your life and handling it over to an unseen being, it takes a lot of love and understanding of that personality.

GOD is in the business of give and take, give Him what you have now and recover it when He is done and recovery is always more than the value of whatever was given. You have to be willing from the heart to lose something before you can gain eternity....Jesus loves you.
