1 Thessalonians 5: 17-18
17 Pray without ceasing.
18 Give thanks in everything, because this is the will of God for you in Christ Jesus.
I never cease to give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers. Ephesians 1:16
A significant leap in technology came when access to the Internet changed from "dialing" to "always connected." The days have already gone when "connecting" resulted in squeals from a modem that gave us glacially slow access to the new world digital. Today, most people in developed countries have access to the Internet that is always on. The Internet is never there.
"Always on" is a way of thinking about the prayer life of the Apostle Paul.
There is no indication that he programmed half an hour each morning to pray. Rather, it seems that he lived a life of prayer, as evidenced by his prayers for the Ephesians:
That does not mean that Paul raised formal prayers every minute of the day. In fact, he mentions "my prayers" as if there were occasions when he stopped to formally raise a prayer.
And, what did he not stop praying about?
Prayers of thanksgiving because the Gentiles of Ephesus believed in Christ.
How different would your life be if you did not have friends or family who were also believers? The fact that there are Christians in your life is always a reason for thanksgiving
