Argentina, a country located in the continent of south America, covers 2,736,690 square kilometers and square kilometers of water of 43,710. These features makes Argentina the 8th largest nation in the world with a total land area of 2,780,400 square kilometers. Argentina had independence in the year 1816, after breaking away from Spain. As at 2012, it's population was 540,000,000 and a GDP per capita of 12,798.
Argentina according to world bank is Latin America's third largest economy and second largest economy in south America behind Brazil.

With all the aforementioned above, Argentina still suffer. Let's take a look at the country's plight from history to date.

Historically, Argentina's economic performance has been very uneven. This affected the country's growth with severe recession. This occurred in the late twentieth century which led to income maldistribution and poverty increase. The Argentina of today is plagued by currency crisis at 18% in 12-days.

High inflation has been a major weakness in the Argentina economy for decades. Argentines struggle to pay for basics such as food as the country is experiencing a high inflation rate. Salaries are lagging behind rising prices. In Argentina 80 pesos is being paid for a piece of beef as prices rise every month. It has been difficult to make ends meet. The government removed subsidies on utility bills which normally provided them cheap electricity, gas and water.
A bakery owner stated that he gave out 5000kg of bread because customers could not afford the rising bread prices anymore. In Argentina today, inflation has turned out to be the order of the day. Salaries are stagnant and starvation seems to be rampant in the country.

Argentina is suffering from stagflation- a condition of stagnant economic growth, despite high inflation rate.

Over the past decades, Argentina has been suffering from staglearning- no growth in learning even at high level of spending on education. This means that the country is not capitalizing on reducing potential poverty.

As if that was not enough, Argentina has been hit hard by drought which threatens their SOY which is one of its major exports. This means more suffering for the masses.

Argentina is going through hard times and we all need to pray for the people living in Argentina.
When @sirknight spoke about opening parish in Argentina, I never knew it was that an urgent call. Steemchurch surely have done well in Nigeria, Ghana and Venezuela and soon Argentina's call will be answered.
