REQUIREMENT FOR DISCIPLESHIP

To choose something from the lot is not an easy thing to do, sometimes protocols, family relatives and money influences our choice of selection. When we read the Bible it guide us on how to make choices when the need arise. The first thing to do is:

1. Pray to God for guidance

2. Prepare the chosen ones.

Pray to God for guidance

Jesus prayed all night before choosing His twelve disciples. We should acknowledge God in all our ways so that He will guide and lead us aright

Proverbs 3:6
"In all thy ways acknowledge him, And he will direct thy paths."

There were many disciples before Jesus chose only twelve. "For many are called but,few are chosen" (Matthew 20:6b NKJV). Many people gathered together to hear Jesus and to be healed. It is good to listen to the word of God. It strengthens our faith (Romans 10:17). Also who came to Jesus were healed. Taste and see that the Lord is good ( Psalm 34:8). You should cultivate the habit of presenting your needs to God in prayer always. For He answers prayers.

Prepare the chosen ones

Jesus started preparing His disciples for thetask ahead of them. He told them what to do to rejoice and to be blessed. He also told them what could condemn them. How should we treat our enemies..? We are to love and not to pray for them to die. There is no Spiritual gains in loving only those who love us. We are to love our enemies unconditionally and what will be our reward...?

When we love both enemies and friends that is when we are behaving like GOD our Father

(Romans 5:5)
