A line of a famous hymn says:

All along my pilgrim journey
Saviour let me walk with thee.

It is a sure fact that only Christ can lead the way to heaven because the Bible affirmed it when Christ said:

I am the Way, the Truth and the Life.

But in walking with Christ a Christian must be watchful of some silent killer that can sever one's relationship with Christ and end the journey to heaven.

1. Pride.

I must first reiterate this that not all pride are bad as usually said among people, it's good to take pride in oneself and believe that you can do it, pride sometimes raise your morale as seen in 1 Sam where David believed he could out an end to the uncircumcised philistine

And Eliab his eldest brother heard when he spake unto the men; and Eliab's anger was kindled against David, and he said, Why camest thou down hither? and with whom hast thou left those few sheep in the wilderness? I know thy pride, and the naughtiness of thine heart; for thou art come down that thou mightest see the battle.
1 Samuel:17:28

But the book of Job warned of a prideful heart with the book of proverb giving a total knock out to it, it warned

The fear of the LORD is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate.
Proverbs:8:13

And the last statement in the book of proverb on pride says it all :

Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.
Proverbs:16:18

A man's pride shall bring him low: but honour shall uphold the humble in spirit.
Proverbs:29:23

The new testament by the help of the Holy Spirit shed more light on this haughty spirit called Pride,

For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
1 John:2:16

We must also remember that what brought angel(Lucifer) to become demon (Demon, Devil) was pride.

As a Christian we have to pray for God to conquer our flesh because if flesh isn't conquered, then pride will still have a place to stay in the life of Christian.
