Angels have intrigued people since the beginning of time and there is a confusion of how they came into being. Some even suggest that when people die they become angels.

Angels are created beings
People do not die to become an angel later, both people and angels are created beings and have different purposes.
There are incidents that the angels were actually seen. The Bible says that they take human forms, and that you can not be aware of their presence. People are encouraged to give a warm welcome to those who come to their homes, because the Bible says that, unknowingly, the angels have been housed in their homes. The different perceptions of the angels are probably the result of which they are generally not seen. God created angels to minister and protect his people.
Testimony:

I believe that all angels do not perform the same tasks or specific activities. The Bible speaks, however, of certain types of angels as seraphim and cherubim. What I have read in the Bible both in the Old Testament and in the New Testament are some of the functions they perform; they serve as messengers, they serve or provide something, they give specific instructions, they protect (I have heard testimonies about that), they give encouragement, they help to escape from danger. They are beings at the service of God, although all the angels are not good and should not be worshiped as some are accustomed.

Hebrews 13:2, "Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for by this some have entertained angels without knowing it." I agree with you; as much as I hate it, Granny did not die and become my guardian angel. I believe this was a misconception created and ultimately exploited to offer comfort and condolence to grieving families over the loss of a love one. Scripture tells us quite a bit about angels and their active role in our lives through the instruction of God. The Book of Daniel gives a perfect example of this when the angel Michael had to step in to fight the Prince of Persia so that a message could be delivered to Daniel (Daniel 10). We also see angels assisting Elisha and his servant in 2 Kings 6:17.

When someone tells me that a loved one died because God needed an angel, I always mention what was recorded in Revelation 5:11 which in part says 'and the number of them was myriads of myriads and thousands of thousands' ... Being one myriad 10,000 multiplying it by the same amount would be 100 million just a myriad of myriads and the text speaks in the plural, so it would be an amazing amount.
So the theory that God needs another angel has no logic, according to what I have learned.
