Faith is very important when it comes to prayer. The reason there was great results any time Jesus pray was because of the faith he had in his prayers. This is the reason why at one time he told His disciples to have faith in God.
And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God. For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them. Mark 11:22-24
God is pleased when you ask in faith:
But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. Hebrews 11:6
I Have always admire the power of electricity. The power of electricity is so dangerous and potent. As powerful as it is, it still have no effect on certain materials, not because those materials can harness its power but rather those materials don't possess that property to tap or conduct its power. Wood, rubber are poor conductors of electricity. It is amazing to see the kind of powers God possess yet people cannot tap into that power to function. The scripture we read says, ''without faith it is impossible to please God" meaning that it is hard for God to accept a person who is faithless.
Whenever we pray, our faith must be in action. When our faith is in action that is when the miraculous happen in our life.
One of the things that moves God is our faith. This is why Jesus was marveled when he saw the great faith of the Roman Centurion. The man had prayed to Jesus to heal his sick servant. Jesus wasn't move by the fact that a great man has submitted to him but rather a man of his caliber to make a request with such great faith. God wants us to do same whenever we pray, because it is what moves Him to grant our request quickly.
Now when Jesus had entered Capernaum, a centurion came to Him, pleading with Him, saying, “Lord, my servant is lying at home paralyzed, dreadfully tormented.” And Jesus said to him, “I will come and heal him.” The centurion answered and said, “Lord, I am not worthy that You should come under my roof. But only speak a word, and my servant will be healed. For I also am a man under authority, having soldiers under me. And I say to this one, ‘Go,’ and he goes; and to another, ‘Come,’ and he comes; and to my servant, ‘Do this,’ and he does it.” When Jesus heard it, He marveled, and said to those who followed, “Assuredly, I say to you, I have not found such great faith, not even in Israel! And I say to you that many will come from east and west, and sit down with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven. But the sons of the kingdom will be cast out into outer darkness. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.” Then Jesus said to the centurion, “Go your way; and as you have believed, so let it be done for you.” And his servant was healed that same hour. Mathew.8:6-13
God works according to your own faith and not your own prayers:
Many people have prayed to Jesus for healing and other request and he had given them solutions or answers. You realise that in many of such cases there was one particular thing he expected from them and that is their faith in him. Your own faith in God is what matters to Him more than your own prayers to Him. A prayer without faith is resultless. What people didn't know about Jesus was that he had his own faith in God concerning the prayers he offered.
Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead man was lying. And Jesus lifted up His eyes and said, “Father, I thank You that You have heard Me. And I know that You always hear Me, but because of the people who are standing by I said this, that they may believe that You sent Me. John 11:41-42
From this prayer that he prayed, he showed us his own faith in God. He said" paraphrased: Father I have faith in you that you can bring Lazarus back, am saying this so they will believe in you.
That was the most important part of his prayer where he showed us the real force behind his prayers, that is, his own faith in God.
The reason why a christian must have his own faith is because God always works according to our faith in Him and not our prayers to Him. If your prayers are not backed by faith it will be resultless.
The Caannan woman prevailed in his prayers because of her own faith...
And behold, a woman of Canaan came from that region and cried out to Him, saying, “Have mercy on me, O Lord, Son of David! My daughter is severely demon-possessed.” But He answered her not a word. And His disciples came and urged Him, saying, “Send her away, for she cries out after us.” But He answered and said, “I was not sent except to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.” Then she came and worshiped Him, saying, “Lord, help me!” But He answered and said, “It is not good to take the children’s bread and throw it to the little dogs.” And she said, “Yes, Lord, yet even the little dogs eat the crumbs which fall from their masters’ table.”Then Jesus answered and said to her, “O woman, great is your faith! Let it be to you as you desire.” And her daughter was healed from that very hour. Mathew.15:22-28
The woman with the issue blood prevailed in her prayers because of her own faith...
So Jesus went with him, and a great multitude followed Him and thronged Him. Now a certain woman had a flow of blood for twelve years, and had suffered many things from many physicians. She had spent all that she had and was no better, but rather grew worse. When she heard about Jesus, she came behind Him in the crowd and touched His garment. For she said, “If only I may touch His clothes, I shall be made well.” Immediately the fountain of her blood was dried up, and she felt in her body that she was healed of the affliction. And Jesus, immediately knowing in Himself that power had gone out of Him, turned around in the crowd and said, “Who touched My clothes?” But His disciples said to Him, “You see the multitude thronging You, and You say, ‘Who touched Me?’” And He looked around to see her who had done this thing. But the woman, fearing and trembling, knowing what had happened to her, came and fell down before Him and told Him the whole truth. And He said to her, “Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace, and be healed of your affliction.”Mark 5:24-34
The blind man Bartimeus prevailed in his prayers because of his own faith......
Now they came to Jericho. As He went out of Jericho with His disciples and a great multitude, blind Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, sat by the road begging. And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out and say, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!” Then many warned him to be quiet; but he cried out all the more, “Son of David, have mercy on me!” So Jesus stood still and commanded him to be called. Then they called the blind man, saying to him, “Be of good cheer. Rise, He is calling you.” And throwing aside his garment, he rose and came to Jesus. So Jesus answered and said to him, “What do you want Me to do for you?” The blind man said to Him, “Rabboni, that I may receive my sight.” Then Jesus said to him, “Go your way; your faith has made you well.” And immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus on the road. Mark 10:46-52
The two blind men were heard by Jesus because of their own faith......
When Jesus departed from there, two blind men followed Him, crying out and saying, “Son of David, have mercy on us!” And when He had come into the house, the blind men came to Him. And Jesus said to them, “Do you believe that I am able to do this?” They said to Him, “Yes, Lord.” Then He touched their eyes, saying, “According to your faith let it be to you.” Mathew 9:27-29
Have faith in God whenever you pray, that's the force that brings the answers you need. God bless you.
Mark 11:24
Therefore I tell you whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it and it will be yours. With faith all our prayers will be answered .

Faith is also expressed in the spiritual realm. Each of us regardless of our backgrounds expresses faith. The difference between the faiths we exercise in our daily routine and our religious faith is the object of that faith.
Everyone places his or her faith in something or someone. The Moslem puts his faith in the Koran and in Mohammed. The humanist put his faith in himself, a religious person in his own good works. None of these can save, because in each case the object of faith is wrong.
Our faith is only as good as the object in which we place our faith.
We’re told in the Bible that we are to personally put our faith and trust in Jesus Christ.
Acts 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
