Today we will be talking about the correction ...

"Without discipline, it seems to be cause for joy, but for sadness, but later, there is a harvest of justice and peace for those who have been trained by it" (Hebrews 12:11).

God, through his infinite love, allowed us to be his children when we receive Christ as our savior. Despite our infidelity and not deserving anything, the Lord adopted us and made us members of his family. How is it good to live that love, is not it? It is an inexplicable love, which goes far beyond our understanding.

Every father wants his son to walk the right way. If the child does something wrong or has behaved badly, the father disciplines the child, correcting it so that in the future he does not suffer with the consequences of his wrong attitudes. But the correction is not always very pleasant. But the father takes that attitude because he loves the son and cares.

As a good father, God does the same with us. "For the Lord disciplines those he loves, and he scourges everyone he receives as a son" (Hebrews 12: 6). We are human beings and, therefore, we fail many times. We make wrong decisions, we desire that which is sin and it behaves in a way that does not please God. And it is logical that He would not sit idly by watching all this happen. Then, God corrects and disciplines us, so that we can return to the right path.

Have you ever been rebuked by God?

The Lord does it because he loves us! Imagine if He left us without correction? Where would we be today? Therefore, whenever you are rebuked, glorify the name of the Lord, because it is a sign that He loves you very much.

God knows all things and sees what we can not see. We see it now, but He sees the future. That is why he knows what is best for each one of us. If we do something that is outside of his plans, He will correct us through circumstances and suffering. See the example of the Hebrews freed from slavery in Egypt. That people disobeyed and dishonored God so much that they had to spend 40 years in the desert before arriving in the promised land. However, even during the years of correction, God never abandoned them. He always supplied all their needs and protected them from everything. And the same thing happens with us. As much as God corrects us and disciplines us, He never abandons us; he will always be at our side comforting us, until we learn the lesson and become obedient children again. See what He promised: I will never leave you, you will never abandon yourself "(Hebrews 13: 5).

We think we know something, when in fact we do not know anything. He is the one who knows! Then, before complaining, remember what the Word says: "My son, do not despise the discipline of the Lord or be hurt by his rebuke, for the Lord disciplines those he loves, just as the father does the son of those who desire good. "(Proverbs 3: 11-12).

Although God's correction seems to be wrong at the time, we must believe that He will not do anything that is not good for us. The correction of the Father must be cause for joy, because if He does not discipline us, His love would not be perfect, because loving also means caring, protecting, wanting good and not satisfying all our wills.

"Blessed is the man whom God punishes, so he does not despise the discipline of the Almighty so that it hurts, but he has to face it, it hurts him, but his hands also heal" (Job 5: 17-18).

Hi @corpuscristi18

The children of God will truly experience great loss if they do not understand discipline. Many people for years lead lives full of foolishness in the eyes of God. It is impossible for them to advance. They have no idea what the Lord wants to do in them. They walk according to their own desires and wander in the desert, without restriction and without direction. God does not act in this way. He has a purpose in everything he does and acts for the purpose of shaping a solid character in us so that we can glorify his name.

Well said dear Steemchurch, the discipline of God does not allow the believer to live in acts of debauchery, since the Holy Spirit will correct him all the time. Do not despise the Discipline, for it shows that you are being sanctified in your conduct.

The people who make the difference are the disciplined, who are able to stay within the parameters necessary to achieve success.

When God disciplines us, we suffer for our mistakes, but we are not paying any guilt, we are learning to do what is right.

God does not alter his covenant with his true children. He will discipline them until they learn what is acceptable.
