I believe that one of the problems with today's modern Christians is that we do not raise an altar for God. Because if the Bible says that we are Temple of God, and that the Holy Spirit dwells in us. Then there is a need to raise an altar for God, within us. An altar as the psalmist David said:
"I will wash my hands in innocence, and so I will walk around your altar, O LORD" (Psalm 26: 6)
When you and I make an altar so that the Holy Spirit dwells in our hearts then we will not let that fire go out, because we will be throwing firewood at it. (Prayer, communion, reading the Bible, etc.)

** In his first letter the apostle Paul advises Timothy: **
"Do not neglect the gift that is in you, which was given to you by prophecy with the laying on of the hands of the presbytery" (1 Timothy 4:14)
We can see in this verse that the apostle Paul knew of the condition of his disciple, that it was possible that Timothy was neglecting the gift that was in him. And for this reason he admonishes you with the words we have just read. Because there is great danger when we neglect God in our lives.
It is my opinion that the phrase "Do not Neglect" refers to not paying the necessary attention to something as warranted, or losing a little or a lot of interest in something. Because the text that we are going to read next teaches us, what happens when a person neglects what God gave him (he dies.
** In his second letter the apostle asks Timothy to: **
"Therefore I advise you to stir up the fire of the gift of God that is in you by the laying on of my hands" (2 Timothy 1: 6)
By reading this text, we can realize that it is possible that Paul's disciple was letting the fire of the gift of God that was in him be extinguished. I was not throwing milk, or was not stoking the stove. This is why the apostle Paul advises Timothy to fan the fire of the gift of God that was in him. Not so much that he will seek fire, not because he was already inside it.
For me to think the word "to awaken" means to give life, and life is not given to what is alive, but to what I know is dying.
For this reason, we as priests of God need to take counsel from him. If we do not let the fire go out, let's fire it until the Lord comes for us. Atízale to the fire my brother, that nothing and nobody steal that fire of God that is in you.
"Behold, I come quickly; hold what you have, so that no one may take your crown "Revelation 3:11
There are three enemies that will try to put out your fire:
The world
The meat
The devil
But this fire that we have inside of us, Jesus said: Not even the gates of hell will extinguish it. Neither tribulation, or anguish, or persecution, or famine, or sword. Romans 8:35
The apostle Paul tells us in the letter to the Romans:
"For which I am sure that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor the present, nor what is to come. Neither the high, nor the deep, nor any other created thing can separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. "Romans 8: 38-39
And he continues saying:
"Before, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loves us" Romans 8:37
If the word of God says: that we are more than conquerors, then you and I can overcome all adversity that comes before us in the name of Jesus.
"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me" Philippians 4:13
I also like the apostle Paul, I invite you to:
a) Do not neglect the gift of God
b) Awaken the fire of the gift of God that is in you
If you are already saved, you do not have to seek the gift of God. It is already in you just do not neglect it, and always keep it fanned.
He who lights the hearth will be light, and that light will shine to everyone who walks in darkness. Because for this God took us out of darkness, so that we might be the light of the world. (John 1: 5; 8:12; 9: 5; Acts 13:47; Romans 2:19; Ephesians 5: 8,13; 1 Thessalonians 5: 5; 1 Peter 2: 9; 1 John 1: 7; 2 : 10)

We need to continually fuel the fire in us and not let it go out. Only then can we keep burning bright for God. To do this, we need constant praying and studying of God's word

Thank you for sharing this message, the fire must always remain lit on the altar, it should never be turned off. Today we do not need a physical altar because Christ gave his life on the cross of Calvary as a perfect sacrifice, and the flame is inside our hearts.

The continual burning of the fire also signifies that God’s desire to accept what is offered to Him never ceases. God desires to accept us, and He accepts us by burning us. The more He burns us, the more He accepts us.

And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. Galatians 6:9
When we are impatient, tired, or discouraged the fire on the altar of our hearts can dim to dying embers.
And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works. Hebrews 10:24
We need to encourage one another, pray for one another, and therefore fan the glowing embers back into flames.
