Psalm 39:1-3
I SAID, I will take heed and guard my ways, that I may sin not with my tongue; I will muzzle my mouth as with a bridle while the wicked are before me.
I was dumb with silence, I held my peace without profit and had no comfort away from good, while my distress was renewed.
My heart was hot within me. While I was musing, the fire burned; then I spoke with my tongue:
There is a time to speak and a time to listen
I have learnt that it is easier to solve the problem created by silence, than to reverse the havoc wrecked by excessive or foolish talk.
King Solomon made a observation; " Even if a fool keeps shut, he will be treated like a wise man".
Silence re - brands a foolish man into a wise man.
Too much talking turns a wise man to an idiot.
My dear friends pray for wisdom to know when to speak and when to keep mute.
You don't have to answer every question or reply every attack.
You don't have to give everyone a piece of your mind.
Learn how to mind your own business.
Take heed to yourself and be quite.
Stay where God has kept you. God told Jeremiah you will go to all that I send you to and whatever I ask you to say you will say.
Jeremiah 1:4-7 ( 4Then the word of the Lord came to me [Jeremiah], saying,
Before I formed you in the womb I knew [and] approved of you [as My chosen instrument], and before you were born I separated and set you apart, consecrating you; [and] I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.
Then said I, Ah, Lord God! Behold, I cannot speak, for I am only a youth.
But the Lord said to me, Say not, I am only a youth; for you shall go to all to whom I shall send you, and whatever I command you, you shall speak.)
God will not be responsible for whatever happens if you're attacked for going to those he did not send you to, or say what he has not commanded you to say.
Listen, learn and obey.
John the Baptist was sent to present a way for the Messiah. But one day he heard that Herod had snatched his brother's wife. The following day, John prepared a message on Herod's misbehavior, and that was his last message as a free man.
Moses was given a simple instruction, speak to the rock, and water will come forth. Instead out of anger he hit the rock with his rod and spoke to the people instead of to the rock. " Shall we again bring water for you out if the rock, you stiff-necked people?" That " perverse speech" and disobedience cost him his place in the land of promise.
Take heed to yourself no matter how hard people drive you into provocation. If you have nothing good to say, "Zip up your mouth.
Stop being negative
