WHO IS A CHRISTIAN?

Brothers and sisters of the #steemchurch, happy new month once again. We all are christians but by our act, we do not show or possess some great qualities a true christian should possess. Today, am going to define who a true christian is in few definitions and attached to each definition is a bible verse. As a christian, we are meant to live a selfless life, a life that pleases God. A true life.

Definitions of who a christian is.

• A christian is one who hears and obey God's word.

James 1:22-25. Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. 23 Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like someone who looks at his face in a mirror 24 and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. 25 But whoever looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues in it,not forgetting what they have heard, but doing it,they will be blessed in what they do.

• A christian is one who will not serve other God.

Deuteronomy 28:14. Do not turn aside from any of the commands I give you today, to the right or to the left, following other gods and serving them.

• A christian is a mind that is renewed, changed and transformed.

Romans 12:2. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is, his good, pleasing and perfect will.

• A christian is a mind that sacrifices all things.

Romans 12:3-8. For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the faith God has distributed to each of you. 4 For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, 5 so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. 6 We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your[a] faith; 7 if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach; 8 if it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead,[b] do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully.

• A christian is a mind that walks in line with God's instruction and will.
  2 Timothy 3:4.

• A christan is a mind thay forgives, a mind that does not hold grudges.

1 Peter 2:1. Therefore, rid yourselves of all malice and all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and slander of every kind.

• A christian is a mind that embraces peace and orderliness.

Hebrew 12:14. Make every effort to live in peace with everyone and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord.

• A christian is a mind that does not bear walse witness.

Exodus 20:16. You shall not give false testimony against your neighbour.

• A mind that does not go contrary to God's will.

Galatians 5:17. For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whatever you want

• A christian is a mind that is free of evil.

Psalm 34:14. Turn from evil and do good;
seek peace and pursue it

• A christian is a mind that is like Jesus.

Acts 11:26. and when he found him, he brought him to Antioch. So for a whole year Barnabas and Saul met with the church and taught great numbers of people. The disciples were called Christians first at Antioch.
