Without God in the picture its all for vanity

What is Life?
Isn't life more than money, isn't life more than food, isn't life more than drink?

We all know the fact that the world needs food, water and money to survive, but it's one truth that we don't need food, water or money to live. You are alive because of God.

Why do we tirelessly work for what is perishable and never work for what's eternal. We gather and store up so much for the now and forget that eternity is our final destination. So I believe it's very wise for one to think about storing up for himself goods that are not perishable, goods that cannot rot or rust, goods that are profitable and are eternal. That gift is salvation!

Life is indeed more than the money, food and drink. How?

Ask that man who has all the money you desrie but his lying down in hospital on oxygen as his life support. Ask that family that never lacks a meal a day but there is no love and joy in the family. Ask those from very well developed countries but are living in fear because of high levels of insecurity.

I know we all have needs, wants and different desires but it's wise for one to align his desires right. The things that really don't matter are the very things that makes man to suffer and live in fear and anxiety but what matters the most in our lives is trushed out by our very own desires.

God wants your heart, God's desire is for you to desire him because He knows your every desire but he wants you to desire him first, with all your heart because He is above all human needs and desires.

Matthew 6:31-33
[31]“So don’t worry about these things, saying, ‘What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?’
[32]These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs.
[33]Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.

There is a story in the Bible about a rich man who had so much wealth, he stored up so much goods and he even had excess for himself that he did not know what to do with it. There came a time and his soul was required of him in eternity and when he approached the throne of God, God called him a fool because he had stored up so much earthly wealth but never thought about how important it was for him to store up for himself heavenly wealth.

Luke 12:20-21
[20]“But God said to him, ‘You fool! You will die this very night. Then who will get everything you worked for?’
[21]“Yes, a person is a fool to store up earthly wealth but not have a rich relationship with God.”

Therefore if you want to be wise, do not spend your entire life time storing up for yourself earthly wealth but live a life storing up for yourself eternal wealth because that's what counts the most.
Be rich in God!
