Often hard times come in our Christian life and we fall into despair and always go to our pastors or a brother of the congregation to receive a word that encourages us in difficult times.
And it is very important that you and I are prepared as a good soldier of the Faith to know how to advise in times of crisis, of scarcity, of tribulation and even in spiritual deserts. I am very interested in a passage in the bible that shows us that there are some councils that hurt us and that allow us to go through more difficult situations than what we are going through. And we started to receive strong consequences through a bad council they gave us.
Proverbs 18:24
The man who has friends has to be a friend; And friend there is more united than a brother.
There are really friends who are worth being admired, but there are many who have disappointed us for some bad gesture. The Bible teaches us that true friends are with us in times of war and peacetime, and shows their friendship in such a way that allows us to value that brotherhood every day, for example we see a David and a Jonathan who loved each other death, they still came to love more than their own wives, how amazing it is to find friends like that.
Speaking of David I just want to share the passage that involves two of his children, where one fell in love with his sister for being a virgin and very beautiful, so great was the love that he got sick, and a council came and we will see which was the council that he transmitted.
2 Samuel 13: 5
And Jonadab said to him: Lie in your bed, and pretend that you are sick; and when your father comes to visit you, say to him: Please let my sister Tamar come, so that she may feed me, and prepare a meal before me, so that when I see her I may eat it from her hand.
There are very bad councils, but this depends on the person too, the degree of maturity with which you can transmit a council, we note that the council was not so nice that Jonadab gave Amnon, in a few words I order him to abuse his sister by force. Maybe it was not a constructive council but it was so great the desperation that he had to be with his sister that led him to make a mistake that cost him his life.
Do not let problems lead us to ask for advice from wrong people who instead of helping us make us sink deeper into the situation, God is good at all times and remember that he will never place a burden that you and I can not carry.
