MY STORY

I once went to an alnight service and after all the praises and adorations and testimonies, the time came for the pastor to preach.
When he took to the pulpit I was earger to receive truth from my pastor and as soon as he started preaching, prophecy set in and what he told us was that the things he is seeing in the spiritual realms does not permit him from preaching.
I was shocked and sad because I asked myself why will people come to an alnight service and only for a pastor to stand infront of people to prophesy?
But that is what happened throughout his 3-4 hours of holding the microphone.
It was only prophecy and deliverance no preaching.

Christian mentality today rates the spiritual strength and ability of the pastor based on his ability to prophesy, heal or perform miracles. But are these the core duties of the prophets and pastors?

People call themselves prophets and what they do is to prophesy while others say they are deliverance ministers is all that they do in the church is to deliver people from demonic oppression.
But are these the main reasons why God called them?

Majority of believers go to church today and all that they do is to be shouting ' I receive it' and they come back home tired and empty because they did not get what actually their souls needed from the prophets, pastors and bishops.

Jesus Christ did a lot of miracles and healings but that does not mean that He came purposefully to heal and perform miracles.

This is because before Jesus came, people were been healed, miracles were being made and prophecies were been given already so if He is also coming mainly to heal and deliver people then He should not have come.

Jesus had a core duty on earth and that was to SAVE men from their sins [Matthew 1:21]

"And she will have a son and you are to name him Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins".

So you see Jesus had a core duty to perform not necessarily healing and delivering people from evil.

Jesus' core duty was the will of God [Matthew 26:39]

Am not in any way suggesting that prophecy, healing and deliverance etc are not good but all that am saying is that they are not the main reason why God called them.

The soul needs something more than 'you will marry, travel, rich.... etc.

After Jesus Christ ascended to heaven, the apostles knew exactly what they were supposed to do and they set off to exactly what God had ask them to do after the Holy Spirit had come on them.

But the sad thing is that most of the people did not know this task or duty of the apostles until a demon declared it.

Even demons know the core duties of our pastors and prophets but we their followers don't know. What a pity.

So what then is the core duty of our men of God?

"One day as we were going down to the place of prayer, we met a demon-possessed slave girl.
She was a fortune-teller who earned a lot of money for her masters.
She followed Paul and the rest of us shouting, these men are servants of the Most High God and they have come to tell you how to be saved. Acts 16:16-17

Our so called prophets, bishops, general-overseers etc are to tell HOW TO BE SAVED. This is the main reason that God called them.

But what do we see today, people go to church and instead of the pastor telling them how they can be saved they are rather told to receive marriage, visa, healing etc.

Jesus said to his disciples that

"I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one come to the father except through me " [Jn 14:6]

It is therefore the duty of these men of God to tell sinners how to know the Way, the Truth and the Life.

The men of God are the sign-posts showing people to Jesus.

It means that when we meet in the church, crusades, revivals, on radio and television etc, the men of God must tell us how to be saved first before anything else.

What is the use of marriage, money, visa healing and deliverance to somebody who do not know Jesus?

"And what do you benefit if you gain the whole world but lose your own soul?
Mk 8:36

If our pastors, prophets, bishops will not tell us how to be saved but will only prophesy, then we will die and go to hell with them and nobody can blame God. [Hosea 4:6]

Why should a prophet only prophesy to members without telling them how to be saved?

Visa, marriage, riches, deliverance, healing etc are all good but they will not save us.

What was the central idea of the past prophets- Isaiah, Jeremiah, Daniel, Elijah, Elisha, etc? It was to turn people from their wicked ways to God.

What then is the essence of prophesy if it does not turn people to God?

God have mercy on us.

As believers we need more than what the pastors and prophets are giving us.

May God lead us to his true prophets and pastors who will always tell us how to be saved.
