God loves true worshippers and thankful hearts. A proud fellow can't be any of these because he cannot bow his heart genuinely in thanksgiving. Hence, the proud misses out on a lot of things.

Worshippers always get what they want. In Matthew 8:1-3, a leper came to Jesus and the first thing he did was to fall at His feet and worship Him even before he asked for a miracle. He worshipped before making his request and of course, he was cleansed. In Mark 5:1-15, as mad as the mad man of Gadara was, he fell at the feet of Jesus and worshipped Him and God took it took it over from there. As high up in the hierarchy of Israel as Jairus was, before he even said anything about his sick daughter, he fell at the Jesus and worshipped him (mark 5:21-24)

Grateful people always get more than they ask if bargain for. In Luke 17:11-18, Jesus cleansed 10 lepers. One came back to say thank you in a loud voice. Jesus said his faith had made him whole. The other 9 got healing while the grateful one got wholeness. There is a difference between being healed and being made whole. To be made whole means to be healed spiritually, mentally and physically with no trace of the scars you got from the illness. Ungrateful people get only one miracle and after that, no more. This is why many people have not had a new testimony for a long time.

Grateful people get blank cheques. Inability to worship God is linked with pride. Ungratefulness is linked to pride. In Exodus 5:1-2, pharaoh asked who the lord is That He should be worshipped , and he paid the price of that pride with his life. God warns us in Deuteronomy 8:12-18
"Lest when thou hast eaten and art full, and hast built goodly houses, and dwelt therein; 8:13 And when thy herds and thy flocks multiply, and thy silver and thy gold is multiplied, and all that thou hast is multiplied; 8:14 Then thine heart be lifted up, and thou forget the LORD thy God, which brought thee forth out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage; 8:15 Who led thee through that great and terrible wilderness, wherein were fiery serpents, and scorpions, and drought, where there was no water; who brought thee forth water out of the rock of flint; 8:16 Who fed thee in the wilderness with manna, which thy fathers knew not, that he might humble thee, and that he might prove thee, to do thee good at thy latter end; 8:17 And thou say in thine heart, My power and the might of mine hand hath gotten me this wealth. 8:18 But thou shalt remember the LORD thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day"

Many of us cannot worship God or dance for Him in public. Be careful. The next time you find it difficult to praise God publicly, warn yourself sternly.
If you honour God, He will honour you. If you despise Him, He will lightly esteem you. If He promises you a land, you still have to go and possess it in all humility, resting on His strength alone. When He gives you a prophecy, it is a call to prayer. Go to God in prayer and tell Him you will make amends. He still answers prayers. He is still sovereign. Tell Him you are ready to begin a return journey, and that you will fill up everything you jumped over and make restitution where necessary.
