GUARDING AGAINST TEMPTATION.

But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.
James 1 : 14-15.

Everything always starts from the heart. Many of us have ungodly desires, which are unhealthy, as they can ultimately lead to death of many forms. For example, the preacher is not more important than the one who stays at home to raise up revivalists for the kingdom. We are equally important to God. If we do not realize this, we may end up veering off and begin to walk in error thinking its the right thing to do. Fame and prominence are not equal to significance. For instance, if your eyes are, you may still live. But is it possible to survive without two kidneys? No. Just because the kidneys aren't visible, does not mean they are less important than the eyes. If your vice became the number one priority, it would not only destroy your life, but it may also destroy the lives of people around you. Don't let whatever vice control you.

Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;
1 Peter 1:13

Every thought has an agenda. Once one looks at someone lustfully,an agenda begins to develop an agenda. We must begin to capture our mind in order to be free. One of the ways to achieve this, is adding significant people in our lives. We should confess and confide in them. Let them know when you are being tempted. Some people could negotiate to be moved away from, say, the accounting section at work because of the way they feel when they are around money. Like I stated earlier, every thought has an agenda.

Some Christians know more about the occult than they know the Bible. Some know more about the signs of the devil than the memorials in the Bible. Paul warns us to be “innocent about what is evil.” Why study evil,when you have not finished studying the word of God?. Experts don't study the fakes to know the original. They study the original to know the fake. The more of God's word one knows, the easier it is to detect the nonsense that can destroy ones life.
