Just as drinking saltwater actually makes you thirstier, the Bible promises that getting more of something actually less satisfied. hen you get what you want, you will still need more of it. The perpetual quest to satisfy your desires leaves a growing, consuming emptiness that is never filled. The desire to be satisfied with earthly things (money, achievements) perpetuates a cycle dis-satisfaction, a never ending drive for just one more thing.
As a result, you are never satisfied with what you have. The sooner you can begin to find true satisfaction by letting go of the temporary and seeking after the eternal.
