Lately in my works on community projects, my trail of thoughts went far and wide.
In this world we live in it is easy to get confused, with all the new world technology and worldly political ideologies that are affecting all of us through every step of our lives.
Yet here as Steemians, we are free to express ourselves, with words and deeds. Blockchain technology has made it possible for us to combine freedom of expression and the possibility to do good in this world. It may not be the only platform in life where this is possible, but it is definitely another one, one that has opened up an entire new array of possibilities.
In this post I wish to concentrate on one of these possibilities, the option that we have available to each and every one of us, “Delegating Steem Power (SP)”.
Many of us have already delegated SP to the various support services on this platform, many shall do so when they feel that they can do so without disrupting their personal economical plans here. There is no right or wrong, as it is an individual decision and we are after all, individuals.
However, when we look at the broader picture here, the fact that we all came here as “Minnows”, starting off with all sorts of questions and uncertainties, many of us did feel ‘welcomed’ when we found out about the support services. Simple services that for example gave a small yet welcoming vote to our posts.
These services that supported us and as shall many more new services in future, as this platform grows, all depend upon the support of us “Steemians”.
I am sure that many reading this have already read various posts about this. However, I wish to address this from an angle that we may not have looked at to date. As people who support the idea of an Assembly of Christians on the Steem Blockchain, which we have named: Steemchurch.
Every person can choose between right and wrong. Every person can make mistakes in life. There is no person on this earth who has the right to cast the first stone. Let us keep that in mind when addressing topics such as this in our future.
So, when looking into the already vast list of support services on Steemit, let’s remember what it was like for us when we first got here. Let’s remember that many people had already to date loaned SP to these services so that we may feel welcome. As our community here grows it shall be important for each and every one of us to contribute. It should be after all, a goal, to be able to contribute and help make the Steemian experience better for everyone.
How much should a person delegate?
This question is a common question and it is best answered here with a simple verse from The Holy Bible.
"The eye of a needle" is scripture quoting Jesus recorded in the synoptic gospels:
I tell you the truth, it is hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven. Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God. When the disciples heard this, they were greatly astonished and asked, “Who then can be saved?” Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
Mathew 19:23-26
Parallel versions appear in Mark 10:24-27, and Luke 18:24-27.
The question should not read, “How much” as this is a relative thing.
The Steemians among us with only a few hundred SP obviously cannot delegate as much as a Whale or a Dolphin. However, when a Minnow does delegate, remember the above verse from The Holy Bible. Which was depicted in a movie as a scene where a little poor lady, discreetly put a “penny” into the donation bowl, while a rich man boldly and loudly made it known that he was putting in hands full of gold.
We can all contribute and every contribution is always welcome. The largest and most welcome contributions are those that are from the heart. The ones that are given with the intent to do good and not “self promotion”.
With the ecosystem being the way it is and the communities being so diverse already at this early stage, it is good to set the example, as long as your intentions are to ensure that the information about your contribution is transparent and open to the public. We should at all times keep in mind that we are not a “secret society” and any such societies cannot be considered as good, as they seek to “divide and conquer”. The only way to ensure equality is transparency and an open and public approach to our actions. Transparency should be supported and not left to those who “investigate” others for whatever reasons.
We can, each and every one of us, with our deeds help make this platform better for everyone. Along with all the justifications we have read from others for delegating SP to the great services out there, lets keep in mind the story that I have quoted in this post. Remember that we are all equals as people, when it concerns doing good deeds for the right reasons.
I hope that this short post here, on the topic of “Delegating SP” can add a new light on how we as Christians can look upon this option. How we can within our own hearts know that our deeds are more than just a “monetary” value.
One thing that I have learned through my life, is that life on this earth is very short and when we do things, we should do them for the right reasons. We may stumble along the way, but if our intentions are sincere we shall get back up and continue on trying to do good.
Thanks for reading this post.
Yours sincerely

Well said brother Jack.
The trickle down ethos is a great one and hopefully we’ll see more of it going forward, especially to those who seek to make this platform and the world a better place.

Resteemed Brother Jack.
In an ideal world, the whales would be delegating down to the minnows - encouraging growth and entrepreneurship. Similar to what we do here at SteemChurch through our buildings fund.

Hi there, well I feel this is a moral and godly cause. Infant on steemit we need to give even the tinniest of our steem/sbd, a lot of people are lost and not knowing what to do.
It's a big place to be, however I find it very good that we should help someone with our delegation for me, I've given a few donation I even did few days ago,
This is good, Im happy you're putting this out

Amen, yes we can think Steem Blockchain as opportunity given by the our Almighty father so let's use it for good things and let's make this world beautiful where every person will get the opportunity to live their life with all the resources and yes it's really important that when we want to do some good things then it should be pushed by heart because there are people who showcase the good things to reflect great before others, the real giver will give and move from their and instead of publishing his/her name so here we should learn the qualities of "Santa Claus", because Santa Claus was nothing but a man who was really kind and he felt the pain of others, so he started his good work of helping others. And you said right transparency is the face of truth and the Secrets or Secret Societies are not for the good interests of people, so always be like an open book because your truthfulness and transparent views and ideas will be appreciated one day, so let's move towards the world where everything is transparent for good reason. At last i want to say one thing that let's spread love and kindness in the name of Almighty Father. Thanks for sharing and wishing you an great day. Stay blessed.

Like i always say, Christians must always find a way to build His church and shine His light wherever we find ourselves.
Supporting this noble cause will be fulfilling part of the vision. It doesn't matter how much we have to delegate, the little we can bring together will go a long way. Like the widow in the bible who offered everything, in giving, the law of quantity doesn't apply. The ratio does
Thank @jackmiller

Off topic but I believe, more and more usage of SP is required to help Steemit grow, so many new users are joining and then they find earnings to be tough and then they leave. Also, with the current bear market, if they indeed earn something in Steem, the price is going down in dollars, I believe Steem to be the most stable of the altcoins and as more and more people will convert their Steem into Steem Power, supply will keep reducing and hence the price will increase.

On topic in fact, sharing thoughts with the rest of us is what broadens our perspectives and helps all of us see things from angles that we may not have considered to date.
;)
Fully agree with you as for Steem, we have something here that can produce so much good for everyone and if we all pitch in it shall just make it better for everyone.

This is a paradise for bloggers, I want to write more whenever I get time because this platform will reward me better than any other platform and I try to promote it wherever I can because I believe many existing blogging platform will try to follow a similar model to Steemit in future and infact will offer better rewards in the beginning to attract writers. As with most of the social media websites, users tend to stick to the platform once they get in and start using it, if Steemit continues to grow like this, it will be hard for competitors to compete with it in future. I tried Investfeed as well, but couldn't stick around for long, if you are a writer, you would prefer to stick with just one platform and gather a loyal audience in the process.

Thank you @jackmiller for this valuable message, when you know that something is going to be used to bless you, you feel free to divest yourself of everything, provided that what you give impacts lives, beyond our own benefit. I do not know one who sows in the good land that is the kingdom of heart and remains without reward.

This brings life to me.
Life is so short and unpredictable.
I hope a lot of people get to read your post.
Regardless of how little minnows contribute to the Steem ecosystem, the intention of giving is greater than the amount given.
Many leave daily because they find it difficult to understand what it takes to survive here. Some others seem to view minnows as poor brats.
People lived normal lives before Steemit and when they don't receive, they go about with their normal lives. They have nothing to lose.
I love your post.
God bless you

good, God bless you, I think the idea is very good in your posts, because that would generate a series of benefits for Christians in this network, it would be promoting values such as kindness among us, and without a doubt I would be assuring that the content that needs to be spread throughout the world that is the word of God reaches every one of the people who use this platform on a daily basis.
