The Church of God

Church is a place of worship for Christians (believers and unbelievers), a place to feed ones spirit, a place to meet people, a place to run to in times of troubles etc.

going to church every now and then without accepting Christ as your lord and personal savior is a waste of time (though not a total waste of time, because one can change easily).
Though various prophets, pastors, choirs, ushers, etc have turned the church into something else like business centers, show case centers, clubs, bars, motels etc, but these SHOULD NOT stop or hinder us from going to church.
Matthew 18:20 “For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.”
I was raised to believe that I have to always go to church as much as I go to school, though without any reason but as time went on I saw the importance of going to church, here are some of the reasons why we should go to church:

1.) ITS IN THE BIBLE WE GO TO CHURCH
“Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.” (Hebrews 10:25).

2.) TO WORSHIP OUR CREATOR
One of the main reasons man is being created or put on Earth is to worship the supreme being who is supreme over everything. He's the creator of the universe including everything in it. So it's compulsory to worship Him and Him alone.

3.) TO PRAY AND BE PRAYED FOR
Praying should be a regular and constant thing, there shouldn't be a room set aside to pray, but due to the distractions we face on a daily basis, it's good we set aside a day to pray. Prayer is the communication between man and God his creator.

4.) TO LISTEN TO THE WORD OF GOD
The church is a place where one listens to words of God through preaching by pastors.
After a long week working, it's very good for one to set aside a day to go to church and listen to preachings. Though we hear one or two people preach one a daily basis from every nook and cranny, but it's very good listening to one's pastor (especially the anointed ones).

5.) TO MEET OLD AND NEW FRIENDS
The church is also a ground to meet people, new and old, young and old, infact, some people meet their lives partners at the church. So it's helps to make one socialize in one's environment.

6.) TO GET ANSWERS TO OUR QUESTIONS
Sometimes we are bothered about one thing or the other that's really troubling our minds and our lives as a whole, these things needs Gods intervention.
Through preachings and revelations, these questions would be answered smoothly and practically.

7.) YOU'LL GIVE AND BE SHOWN LOVE
The church is a place where we have one big family, irrespective of ones background, colour, size, shape, race, age etc. one wil get love and at the same time one will reciprocate it. Freely is it accepted, freely will it be given.

7.) EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES
Some people work full time or part time at the church, job vacancies are being advertised at the church etc.

8.) A PLACE TO RUN TO AT THE TIME OF NEED
The church are willing and able to help both its members and non members who are in desperate need of help. Churches give food, clothing, accommodations, education etc to its members and the society as a whole.
