Your Identity In Christ; A Ticket To Salvation!

in steemchurch •  7 years ago

Your identity defines who you are and is regularly connected to what you do, what you like, where you are from, or how you see yourself.
People identity differs. Everybody, be that as it may, have a similar identity apart from Jesus Christ. This similar identity is connected to what we have done, as

Romans 3:23 says,
"All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."

It doesn't make a difference if somebody sinned a little or alot. Everybody has trespassed and can be recognized
as a sinner.
Then again, when one abandons sin and places faith and confidence in Christ, that individual has another profound identity.
Rather than being characterized in connection to sin, a believer is characterized by Christ's exemplary nature and is seen as being "in Christ."
The Apostle Paul said in 1 Corinthians 1:30

"It is because of him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God—that is, our righteousness, holiness and redemption."

It might be difficult at first to see, however that Jesus Christ can live in and through you and, subsequently, your identity is linked with Him

Galatians 2:20
"I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me."

The minute you have confidence in Jesus, you have another identity in Christ. For instance, when He died on the cross for you,so you could live with Him.

Romans 6:6-8
6 For we know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body ruled by sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin
7 because anyone who has died has been set free from sin.
8 Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him.

When He rose from the dead, you rose from the dead

Colossians 2:12
"having been buried with him in baptism, in which you were also raised with him through your faith in the working of God, who raised him from the dead".

You are in Christ and Christ is in you. He is your identity! This does not mean you are equivalent with Christ. It does imply that your previous lifestyle has passed away, and your new life is found in Him

2 Corinthians 5:17
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!

This significant change is multi-faceted and conveys us to the inquiry Who am I in Christ? The numerous responses to that question contain a list of the things God improves in the life of believers at the moment of salvation. These principal realities are for each believer in Christ to incorporate the foundational truths of justification and sanctification.

Justification proclaims once-for-all that a believer is honest and heavenly before God now and forevermore.
Justification is that which God has officially done in the interest of each believer and is immaculate and changeless.
Sanctification refers to God's proceeding work in a believer's life that outcomes in an on-going Christ-like development.
This process is life-long however won't get any believer to perfection in this life. Add up to sanctification is finished when a believer is in the physical presence of the Lord Jesus Christ.

As a believer, your identity in Christ does not depend on your integrity or worth. Rather, your identity is a showing of God's grace at work in your life to justify you and to sanctify you in Him. The Apostle Paul acknowledged reality of God’s grace when he said . . .

1 Corinthians 15:10
"But by the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace toward me did not prove vain; but I labored even more than all of them, yet not I, but the grace of God with me."

To receive salvation through Chris ,you must first find your identity in him.

With your identity in christ,“YOU ARE VICTORIOUS”!!

2 Timothy 3:12
"Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution".

When challenges, persecutions, distressing situations, turbulent times, trials, and temptations come, be of good cheer; be unflustered, because you’ve already overcome them all. That’s how you’re supposed to think and live, because in Christ, you have overcome the world.

1 john 4:4
" ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world".

John 16:33
"These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world"

God says be of good cheer; 'I HAVE OVERCOME THE WORLD' This was how Jesus lived, even though He was in a world plagued by gross darkness, economic hardships, sickness, oppression, deaths, disasters, etc., He was so detached from the problems and the corrupting influences of His day. He had a victor’s mindset, the kind He expects us to function with.
When you are conscious of this, it will affect your prayer life,It doesn’t matter what challenges you face, when you pray and declare “In the Name of the Lord Jesus, you have overcome the world and its systems, its hardships, hatred, poverty, corruption, depression and falsehood. That’s why nothing in the world can get my attention, because I’ve overcome the world in Christ.

You are not a victim but a victor. You are in Christ, and His victory over the world was for you.Don’t pray to overcome, don’t try to overcome, don’t fast to overcome because you have already overcome Satan, the world, and its systems.

“For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.
5 Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?
1 John 5:4-5

Prayer for those still finding their identity
AlmightyGod,
I appeal to you Lord for the individuals who are lost and can't discover their direction.
I appeal for the individuals who are misconstrued and misjudged.
I pray oh God for the individuals who don't have any acquaintance with you personally.
I appeal to you Lord for the individuals who don't place their faith in you, and I thank You for being in my heart and that I do accept and have genuine confidence in You.
We surrender each fight into Your hands for You to battle.Concede every one of these necessities, gracious Lord our Heavenly Father, favor our week, in Jesus powerful name.

Amen!!

Identifying ourselves in Christ is key to being saved in him. Unless we are saved in him we cannot see the kingdom of God. Let us give him a chance to enter our lives. He is always at the door knocking for us to open and receive.
