Steemchurch :Fruitful Under Shears

Good evening members of this great platform. Am coming your way with another word of God. It's my prayer that it will have positive impact on your life.... Enjoy

Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit. You are clean because of the word which I have spoken to you (John 15: 2 -3)

For the vine to really produce grapes, the branches have to respond to the nurture of the vine dresser. However, all branches don't respond alike. In fact, some don't respond at all. So while some branches bear more fruits, others bear no fruit, not even a single fruit. So the Vine dresser has a situation where

  • Branch 1 = no fruit
  • Branch 2 = some fruit
  • Branch 3 = more fruit
  • Branch 4 = much fruit

But the wine dresser planted the vineyard for abundant harvest, expects abundance so he actively tends it.

What do you think he has to do as good farmer?

Well, his strategy to coax the branches to produce fruits, abundant fruits is called Discipline and Pruning, using Shears, to cleanse and thin them down to flourish.

- If your life consistently bears no godly fruit, God will intervene to discipline you. His discipline is meant to clean you up from the sins that so easily beset you and keep you from being fruitful.

- And if your life bear some fruits, God will intervene to prune you you from weights that so easily beset you and keep you from reaching your maximum and potential fruitage.

While discipline is about sin, pruning is about self - and all involve cutting, and cutting hurts. But they all aim at keeping you and restraining you from purposes and things that occupy you from being fruitful, but both strategies are for your good.

In vineyard principle, we as branches can have ourselves a lot of beautiful leaves and twigs or we can have large, sweet juicy grapes (fruits), but we can't have both. And so the Vine dresser, our Father in Heaven, who receives the glory and who is working in our lives both to will and do His good pleasure, will absolutely discipline and prune us as He sees fit. Our role in this? Submitting, repenting and yielding to fruitful and abundant life.
So as you go through the night and live life, know that the Christian life, is not just about amen and God bless you, it's also about serious stuffs. So set your life in order and respond to your maker and creator, for the fruitful, abundant life He created and redeemed you for in Christ Jesus.
May His grace for yielding to His discipline and pruning come upon you and may your life reflect His will and desires for you in Jesus mighty name. Amen

pray with me

We praise you Father for your ways and love for us. Thanks for the understanding you use people to bring to us each and every blessed day. Help us Lord respond in faith and obedience to your discipline and pruning and may our day and life yield fruits, much fruits for your glory. And cause us Lord to see the blessing and benefit of it all in Jesus mighty name. Amen

I am clean to bear much fruits to His glory in Jesus mighty name. Amen
Meditate on today's word and use it to pray
Shalon, life and grace to you
Moving people onto God's purposes

In John 15:1, Jesus says, “I am the true vine.” This is the last of Jesus’ seven, famous, self-descriptive “I AM” statements recorded in John’s gospel. But this final “I AM” statement is unique in that it is the only one in which Christ makes God the Father an explicit part of the picture he uses. Jesus says, “I am the true vine, and my Father is the vinedresser.” A vine and a vineyard need someone to care for them. Jesus says this is the sovereign role God the Father plays in the spiritual world.
Fruit is expected from us as Christians.

It is the duty of every branch to bear fruits and this can be possible if only we give the vine dresser the chance to prune us.

Amen. It's always imperative for us to stay connected to the vine. It's from him that we find our very existence.
