Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

God has a unique plan for your life, different from that of any other living person. His plans and purposes for your life are distinct, because He does not have, has never had, and will never have a replica of you! You are the only 'You' that God has and will ever have. So, take pride in who you are and in what God is doing in your life; Celebrate your uniqueness.

Sometimes, there is the temptation to feel discouraged when others around you seem to be making more progress than you. However, such a feeling is absolutely unnecessary, because you do not measure your success with the success of someone else. Rather, you measure your success with how much you are walking in the will of God for your life. That someone else is succeeding does not mean you are failing, for god has called us to fulfil different areas of His vision.

John the Baptist, for example, was filled with the Holy Spirit while he was in his mother's womb and was described by Jesus as the greatest of all men born by women.

Matthew 11:11 Verily I say unto you, Among them that are born of women there hath not risen a greater than John the Baptist: notwithstanding he that is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.

Yet, his ministry as the forerunner to the Messiah lasted only six months. This was God's purpose for his life, and he fulfilled it.

Learn to celebrate your uniqueness! Refuse to compete or compare yourself with someone else. Focus on your calling; work on out doing your past and not somebody else. This consciouness will make your life full of rest, as you learn to look at yourself and measure your success through God's Word.

Prayer:

Dear Father, I thank you for bringing me into Christ at such a time as this. I know that I was born for a purpose, and that is to bring glory to your name. As I keep my gaze upon Jesus, I know that I will my own race of life with joy and fulfilment. I thank you Lord, in Jesus' Name. Amen.
