We live in a world characterized by diverse challenges including joblessness, insecurity, famine, poverty, and suffering. Although no one living on this earth is immune to these challenges, as a Christian, you may be tempted to worry and even question the essence of your consecration to God when you are faced with challenges. But the Bible admonishes us to have confidence in God and put our trust in Him.
Psalms 37: 3 - Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shall thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.

To have confidence in God is to trust in Him. When you trust God, there will be no fear or agitation in your heart. Faith in God helps you look away from your challenges and focus on His power and unfailing promises. God's promises cover every area of your need and they can never fail. Moreover, you need to trust and have confidence in God because he is all-sufficient, all-powerful, and His wonders are innumerable. Never give up, just keeping trusting Him.
Caution Against Fretting Over The Godless
The scripture warns us against discontent at the prosperity and seeming progress of evildoers. Christians are not to envy evildoers on account of their temporal position and prosperity lest they should also be tempted to follow their corrupting example. There are several several reasons we should not fret over or envy the evildoers.
- Their joy is shallow and has a short lifespan which is to say that their present happiness is for a short time.
- Their wealth is temporal and their ruin is at the door.
- Their glory will soon fade away because they will wither before they know it.
- Their confidence is deceptive and delusional
- They will soon be cut off by the judgement of God and their weeping will be everlasting.
All these and many more characterize the life of a wicked person. It is certain that no matter the present triumph of the wicked, they will not last long; their day of judgment and perdition is imminent. As the scripture affirms, "The wicked is reserved to the day of destruction? they shall be brought forth to the day of wrath" (Job 21: 30).
As a Christian, you should not be carried away by the wealth and self- confidence of evildoers. You should not join their dubious, fraudulent way, rather, you should put your confidence in God. When you envy the wicked, it weakens your consecration and turns your mind away from God.
God bless you!!
