Beyond the storm

Happy Sunday lovely people!

Today I'd like to share with us something I gleaned from the biblical story of Jesus walking on water. According to the bible, Jesus instructed his disciples to go to the other side of the Sea of Galilee not long after the feeding of the five thousand people. The disciples' voyage was however a tumultuous one as they were caught in a wind storm throughout the night.

Something however happened, the disciples took a brief look away from the storm and saw Jesus approaching their ship! At first they couldn't believe their eyes but as He approached their ship, calm was restored. And that was the end of the storm! The remaining part of the journey was peaceful. All toilings to get to their destination ended!

So many times in our journey and endeavors, storms are likely to arise, be it financial, physical, spiritual, social or career storms. The truth is we all have to encounter storms at one time or the other in our lives because life is full of ups and downs. The most important thing is when this storm arises, who or what will our focus be on? When things get so tough, will you be focused on that hardship or will you take your breath and see Jesus in that storm?

The shift of the disciples' focus from the storm to Jesus brought an end to their toiling to get to their desired destination.

Whatever storm it is you are facing right now in your career, academics and family, take a deep breath and hand it over to Jesus. And watch that storm subside!
