Freedom From Guilt

Heb 9:14 How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?

When you read the book of Hebrews you will notice that the entire book is telling the reader about what is better about the New Covenant over the Old. Heb 8:6 But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises.“

Even the Promises are Better!!!

Today, based on our text verse we will look at guilt.

Jesus as our High Priest Entered into the Tabernacle in Heaven with His Own Blood.

Heb 9:11 But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building;

The Tanernacle of Moses was a copy based on the ultimate tabernacle in Heaven where Jesus is our High Priest and He has entered by the virtue of His Own Blood. These verses in Hebrews is telling us how much better the blood of Jesus is over the blood of bulls and goats used in making a person ceremonial clean. The Blood of Jesus does better than cover our shame and guilt, but this blood cleanses us and frees us from guilt.

If we are constantly struggling with guilt we cannot fully serve God.

“purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God? ”

Purge our conscience from dead works so we can serve the Living God

In other words if we are constantly burdened from our past failures we will have a hard time serving God.

  • We all have a past
  • We all have regrets
The Good News is the Blood of Jesus has the power to clean even our conscience! We may remember the things we have done, but the sting has been taken away and we are no longer burdened with the guilt. We have been set free by Jesus and our future is bright in Him.

I am all for a good cry and a time of repentance before God over my sins!

1Jn 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

At some point we have to believe the promises that we are forgiven and we don’t need to bring up before God things we confessed to Him (Our High Priest Jesus).

Start believing and claiming His Promise of a clean and guiltless conscience so that you can serve the living God. Guilt keeps you bound and will drive you back to sin or just keep you from any motivation to do better. Freedom from guilt is one of the better things of the New Covenant in Jesus Christ. Hallelujah!

Thank you for your time!
Blessings!

Did you read the next chapter, brother.

Hebrews 10:26‭-‬28 NKJV - For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, but a certain fearful expectation of judgment, and fiery indignation which will devour the adversaries. Anyone who has rejected Moses’ law(Torah/Instructions) dies without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses.

Hey my friend, I read and believe all of the Bible.
