THE POWER OF THE BLOOD OF JESUS

in steemchurch •  6 years ago

Calvary greetings to God's people from the throne of grace. How're we enjoying the divine love of God's grace in our lives.

It bothers me alot that most Christians normally make use of the word blood of Jesus without knowing the power that's behind it.

I will try as much i can to make proper teaching on the subject matter. Before we commence, let's take a word of prayer.

Oh Lord our God, we ask for the proper understanding as we look into your perfect law of liberty and we also pray that the eyes of our understanding be enlighten even as we proceed in your word, Amen...

Our text will be taken from Eph.2:1-13.
1 And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;
2 Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:
3 Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.
4 But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,
5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)
6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:
7 That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.
8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
11 Wherefore remember, that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands;
12 That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world: 13 But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.

Jesus, through the shedding of His blood on the cross of Calvary has dismantled the barrier that once existed between the Jews and the Gentiles. It is interesting to know that we all are one in Christ Jesus. Vs 12 of our text says that we who were once aliens from the Commonwealth of Israel and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope because Christ was not in us then, have been brought near through the blood of Jesus. We are the adopted sons and daughters of God. Jesus blood was shed for the remission of our sins and the salvation of our souls. Without the shedding of blood, there is no forgiveness of sin. Scripture says that the blood of Jesus also speaks better things than the blood of Abel hence we plead the blood of Jesus against every opposition, situation and circumstance and against the powers of darkness.

The blood is also the mark of God’s ownership upon our lives. Beloved, as a true child of God you are carrying God's seal of ownership upon your forehead that is why demons, principalities and the wicked see you and are not able to harm you. Make sure you strive to keep this seal indelible on your forehead and the only way to do so is to run away from sin.

According to Matt. 26:28 "For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins."

The blood of Jesus is so important and significant to every believer in Christ. On the cross of Calvary, Jesus fought and won all our battles and decleared "It is finished".

Most importantly, He shed His blood on the cross for the remission of our sins because we all have sinned and come short of the glory of God (Rom. 3:23).
No blood of any animal could or can do this for you and me because it's only the blood of Jesus that can make atonement for us (Lev. l7:11). Forgiveness through the blood of Jesus is the reason why we are the redeemed of the Lord today and enjoying all the benefits of His goodness, mercies and provisions. Beloved, if Jesus did this for us, we ought to also have the spirit of forgiveness in us. Come to think of it, what have we suffered in the hands of who compared to what Jesus suffered? Is it the humiliation, scorn, shame and disgrace He suffered in the hands of ordinary men for the sins he did not commit, yet He forgave all of them? Let us learn to correct one another in love, tenderness of heart and let not the sun go down upon our anger (Ephe.4:26). We must learn to forgive one another even as Christ forgave us our sins and gave His life a ransom for us.

Thanks for going through and i believe with no doubt in me that you might have learnt one or two things.

God is love.

And the greatest expression of His love toward us is the blood of Jesus.

That love covers every need man has had or ever will have, and every time we apply the blood, we experience an outpouring of this love.

It is love, through the blood, that has created a barrier between you and all the works of the devil.

Let us look upon a crucified Christ, the remedy of all our miseries.

His cross hath procured a crown, his passion hath expiated our transgressions.

His death hath disarmed the law, his blood hath washed a believer's soul.

This death is the destruction of our enemies, the spring of our happiness, and the eternal testimony of divine love.

From Genesis to Revelation, the words the blood are kept before our eyes—a reminder of its importance and significance to God and to us. The sacrifices of Abel, Noah and Isaac, and the Passover lamb, and the giving of the Law all came to pass, but “not without blood” (Hebrews 9:7, NKJV). The blood symbolizes cleansing and purification—the settling of a matter.

Jesus is the way the truth the light no one comes to the father except through him. Thanks for sharing

This is the very motivation behind why Jesus passed on the cross of Calvary, since his blood was more particular and could wash away sins, because of his shedding his blood, it's presently turned out to be conceivable to spared, in light of the fact that on the cross, his blood was sufficient to vanquish sin and Satan
