Hello steemchurch parishioners and welcome to today's topic I have deemed fit to title "hold on". I was moved to write a bit about this because of an incidence I witnessed today.
I was going to school from home when I saw bring chrushed by a big truck. I at first thought it was an accidental but on Lookers who explained the incidence to me said the man had been standing at the road side hitting his fingers for quite sometime before entering the highway at a very slow speed when he saw a truck approaching.
I was still shocked at to why someone will just want to take his life like that when the wife of them man ran down to carry her husband and began crying indefinitely. I was moved and upon further enquiry she said he was in debt and he was getting increasingly frustrated. She said he has not eaten for close to a week because of the way he thinks and as a result ended his life in this very shocking manner.
Such is life at times , I wished I could bring him back and tell him to hold on. Yea , sometimes we are faced with a lot of difficulties and challenges that we think just taking our life is the only solution that there is . But trust me it isn't. Life is always there with those very many challenges to test out resolve. Something big cannot just come to you if you don't prepare for it. Such is life.
Like I have often told people that you challenges do not define you but how you react to them. You don't just think there is no hope again when you have God . When you have very beautiful people created by God that can take you out of that situation. Taking your life is not an option now and in the next life time.
So also we that are called into ministering to people, it is important that we are very concious of the people around us and they way they act. Imagine I saw that am in that condition wanting to take his life. I would have appealed to his conscience that there is nothing worth dying for . Maybe it would have helped or it wouldn't but I would have loved to take my chances.
When life throw stones at you, catch them, keep catching them, saving them and soonest you will build a shield around you and no stones with meet you any longer no matter how they throw it.
Therefore, today, I tell you brethren, hold on and don't let go.

Thank you very much @thankGod, life most times does not go as we plan, but that should not makes us to give up, we should always hold on to the future believing in God, giving up means you are giving up in God, where is your faith when face with trial and difficulties taking your life is what you think? Most times we feel like the Good man Job who was face with trial lost all he had including his lovely children, he was move to ask God alot of questions but never lost faith in the most High God and he was blessed beyond measure, brothers and sister we should never give up been in school anywhere we found our self
we should always hold on ,When we give up on our dreams, we die while still alive. It’s better to die trying than
give up.

For someone to end his life because of debt, this is so sad, I myself wished he was alive so could help him understand to life is more precious than anything and ones there is life there is hope.
I'm so sad because of where he will be going now that he is dead. I pray for for anyone who wants to do a similar thing that he or she get delivered in Jesus name.
Not many of us will understand that a living dog is better than a dead lion and that there is still hope no matter any situation they find themselves in so there is a need that whenever we go on our needs we remember such people and intercede on their behalf. Thanks for inspiring us.

This is so sad to hear.
He must have given up in life and felt that was his way out of his problems.
I feel sorry for his wife and kids.
I pray God has mercy on his soul.

Oh my that is sad,someone taking his own life, unfortunately those are the harsh realities of life😩alot of people facing hardship find it difficult to hold on for so long!!
It is as a result of losing hope, i can not even imagine what he might have been going through, may God give us the zeal and courage to always speak hope into people who have lost it because it could be detrimental to the extent of taking his /her life!!

apostol, cry when I read your story, really, it must have been difficult to witness that, here in Venezuela there is also a lot of poverty, and many people are killing themselves because they do not have to eat and raffle their families, the food here is very expensive. Very good post @owoblow-steemit, this is very useful for everyone, and can be a very good motivation to live this life. Sometimes in this life it happens not like what we want, sometimes when we are hard, and there when we are happy. But all that has been determined by god, and we as human beings are only able to try to change our lives much better from day to day.

After reading your post am wondering what will this deceased man in question will tell his maker the reason why he took the life he didnt have control over.....No one has the right to take away his/her life.
We should hold on even in the midst of trials and tribulation.....he who endure to the end shall be bless....tomorrow is pregnant, we dont know what it carries......it may be our turning point.

That is very bad how can someone takes what GOD has given free how much will some own that will make him take his life. Is he aware that GOD said those who takes lives will be Judged, hmmmmm this world is becoming something else, I colleague teacher at my place did the same thing and when was asked of the reasons, some were saying debt and witchcraft.
