Therefore I advise you to stir up the fire of the gift of God that is in you through the laying on of my hands. Because God has not given us a spirit of cowardice, but of power, love and self-control. 2 Timothy 1: 6-7
The Lord created us to live passionately for Him. In this way, we enjoy the blessings of an intimate relationship with God.
But there are other benefits too. Just as the warmth and beauty of a flame draws people to the fireplace, God also uses our passion to draw others to Him.
Therefore, not only for our own good, but also for the good of others, we must be careful not to let our fervor to God weaken.
Fortunately, the indwelling Holy Spirit disturbs believers who begin to go in the wrong direction. If you feel that this is your case, you can take several steps to turn to Him.
First, evaluate your spiritual condition; Ask God if his fire has been reduced. Second, recognize whatever distance you have been allowed to put between you and the heavenly Father, and repent. Third, refocus your attention on Jesus; meditate on the way He teaches his followers to live. Devote regular time to the Bible, and ask the Lord to speak to you through His Word.
Pray using simple words, crying out to Him with fervor, and seeking the face of the Lord. Fourth, trust that the Holy Spirit will guide you to again have an intimate and passionate relationship with the heavenly Father. Finally, love and serve God by worshiping and helping others.
