The ultimate purpose is to be one with God is to maintain a stable relationship with him to have a blissful living experience here on earth, so we should deprive ourselves of the benefit of being one with God but should have this knowledgeable consideration.
There is this saying that says one with God is majority, if God is on your side it does not matter if everyone is against you, because God is more powerful than the whole persons in combination with their technology and their level of knowledge.
