Today i will like us to look at consistency and its importance...i really love the man Peter,so i will use him as a case study but will we define consistency and ways to be consistency looking from the Bible as a guide

Definition of consistency

To me consistency can be said to be the property of holding together and retaining shape and also a harminious uniformity or agreement among things or part.

Ways of being consistent.
As believers there are different ways to be consistent

  • consistent in faith(romans 14 vs22)"The faith which you have [that gives you freedom of choice], have as your own conviction before God [just keep it between yourself and God, seeking His will]. Happy is he who has no reason to condemn himself for what he approves."

*consistent in prayer (Psalms 22:1)
“My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? why art thou so far from helping me, and from the words of my roaring? O my God, I cry in the daytime, but thou hearest not; and in the night season, and am not silent.”

Consistency in good deeds (Romans 2:14-15)
“For when Gentiles who do not have the Law do instinctively the things of the Law, these, not having the Law, are a law to themselves, in that they show the work of the Law written in their hearts … ”

Looking at the book of Act 12
In time Herod [Agrippa I] the king [of the Jews] arrested some who belonged to the church, intending to harm them.
And he had James the brother of John put to death with a sword;and when he saw that it pleased the Jews, he proceeded to have Peter arrested as well. This was during the days of Unleavened Bread the Passover week,When he had seized Peter, he put him in prison, turning him over to four squads of soldiers of four each to guard him [in rotation throughout the night], planning after the Passover to bring him out before the people for execution.
So Peter was kept in prison, but fervent and persistent prayer for him was being made to God by the church.
The very night before Herod was to bring him forward, Peter was sleeping between two soldiers, bound with two chains, and sentries were in front of the door guarding the prison.
Suddenly, an angel of the Lord appeared [beside him] and a light shone in the cell. The angel struck Peter's side and awakened him, saying, "Get up quickly!" And the chains fell off his hands.
The angel said to him, "Prepare yourself and strap on your sandals [to get ready for whatever may happen]." And he did so. Then the angel told him, "Put on your robe and follow me".
And Peter went out following the angel. He did not realize that what was being done by the angel was real, but thought he was seeing a vision.
When they had passed the first guard and the second, they came to the iron gate that leads into the city. Of its own accord it swung open for them; and they went out and went along one street, and at once the angel left him.
When Peter came to his senses, he said, "Now I know for certain that the Lord has sent His angel and has rescued me from the hand of Herod and from all that the Jewish people were expecting [to do to me].
When he realized what had happened, he went to the house of Mary the mother of John, who was also called Mark, where many [believers] were gathered together and were praying continually [and had been praying all night].

The story of peter showed us believers how to be consistent in prayer and faith, even when facing difficulty knowing the we are not alone and at the end we shall we victorious only if we are consistent and not shaking he will answer or come to our rescue
And if we can be consistent in all we do,we shall overcome.

Thanks @owoblow

When we lead people in the way of discipleship, one of the issues we must deal with is the boring nature of it all. I mean, there’s only so many ways you can “spice up” the habits that characterize consistent growth in Christ.

There will be many days when you and the people you lead won’t feel like reading the Bible. They won’t feel like praying. They won’t feel like memorizing Scripture or serving or doing any of the other practices of spiritual development. Consequently, we might be tempted to reframe or describe spiritual growth as some grand adventure completely free of drudgery. While it’s true that at times growing in Christ will feel like that, it’s also true that many times it won’t.

In the end, what we’ll find is that consistency wins over excitement time and time again.

Indeed brother peter in rhe bible holds this listed examples.
In addision, we as christains, we need to be consistent in all we do. Like consistent in serving the lord, consistent in prayers, consistent in praising the Lord, consistent in giving, consistent in faith, consistent in love. And lots more.
