Baphomet Is Not Satan?

Though perceived as sinister to many the true reality of the Baphomet statue is actually far from Satanic. Yep, that's right, it is actually a representation of Christ... I'll explain!

During the Catholic persecution of the Knights Templar, we were forced to hide many things from the church through the use of symbolism.

Baphomet was our symbol for Christ, no longer a child lamb, but a matured goat at the time of his return.

We made the symbol have both male and female attributes, because of his words on unifying masculine and feminine.

Jesus said to them, "When you make the two one, and when you make the inside like the outside and the outside like the inside, and the above like the below, and when you make the male and the female one and the same, so that the male not be male nor the female female; and when you fashion eyes in the place of an eye, and a hand in place of a hand, and a foot in place of a foot, and a likeness in place of a likeness; then will you enter the kingdom." - Gospel of Thomas

We used the pentagram because that is the orbital path of Venus in conjunction with Earth, and Venus is the morning star. Our Lord declared that he is the "morning star" in Revelation 22:16, the pentagram then was a symbol of him.

Revelation 22:16 I, Yeshua, have sent my Angel to testify these things among you before the assemblies. I AM THE LIVING GOD, The Root and The Offspring of David, and his Companion, and The Bright Morning Star.”

The wings represent his angelic nature.

The flame above his head represents the Holy Spirit within him, just as you see on Renaissance paintings of the saints. (Heb 12:29) (Mat 3:11)

It's true that Satanists have used our symbol, but that's only because they are dumb as a box of rocks, and clueless about history. - Alan Douglas

As far as what Satanists worship, they are uneducated simpletons, most of whom learned everything from one man, Anton LaVey (another Chicagoan lol), who made the Church of Satan in the 1960's, not to actually worship a deity, but to make a stand against Christian conformity. There is very little in the way of actual sacred esoterism from his teachings, he just borrowed whatever looked evil to him, and claimed it as a feature of the faith.

It's really interesting how symbolism is warped by the dark.

The Templars were very clever in their concealing of the Truth inside symbolism. To much of the world, they view Baphomet as satan but they only heard that from a preacher and did not ever bother to question it.

Isaiah 5:20:

Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!

Excellent post, this should rattle some cages!
